Doing Something For The Environment - FaerieStories Eco Contest

PLANTING A TREE.jpg

This week @faeriestories is running an eco contest where we can do something for the environment and possibly win a prize. Details of the competition you can find here.

I always like to try and help the environment wherever possible so I wanted to support the initiative. I think that it's a great incentive to try and do something for the environment and so I followed the link to sign up to plant a tree.

Thanks to using the code, it didn't even cost me anything to plant a tree. You could also choose where you want the tree planted.

I chose Appalachia which I hope will be good to plant some trees there after it was affected by forest fires. I have planted some small like tree plants in my garden but they were planted last year and maybe wouldn't qualify as a tree.

If you want to do something good for the environment and enter the contest, click the above link and you can plant a tree too unless you have another project this week to enter.

Thanks for reading.

This is so cool. We should all be doing something good for the environment. After all we only have this planet to live in. Good initiative that needs highlighting. Happy week ahead!

Nice! Planting trees is always a good thing to do I think. Funny, because here in our little strip behind the house (I can't call it a back yard really) the ground is covered with stones, and I'm pretty sure they haven't maintained the place for a while. There was nothing growing there. Now that we've been here for almost 7 months, all of a sudden all these little seedlings are showing up everywhere. Some are really lovely plants. So I'm planning to bring some of them with me to the new house.
I know the maintenance people (if they do step foot out the door) will probably pull them out, thinking they're weeds.
So I feel I need to 'save' these little greenlings, and give them a new home.
Can't go wrong with that.

I've been thinking of starting a 'clean planet' (it's a community here on Hive, in case you didn't know) thing here to clean up trash on the sides of the roads. But whenever I see it, it feels so disheartening knowing that it'll just come back again faster. Such a shame, all this waste on the sides of the roads, with beautiful jungle strips behind it.
But who knows, maybe I can do something...

The power of nature is quite interesting. We are told that plants need sun and water etc to grow and yet plants manage to grow in the most difficult of places, bursting through concrete and growing on the highest mountains.

I see the rubbish down the sides of roads from Mcdonalds and the likes here too and I cant understand this mentality from grown adults. I am guilty too of being ignorant and inconsiderate when I was younger, so maybe there is hope for others to change too.

Thanks for the tip for the clean planet. I will join too, it looks like a worthwhile group to get involved with. 🙂

I can imagine the feeling that you did something special and necessarily for humanity. Congratulations.
I try my best to keep as many plants around as possible but I like the idea of planting a tree.

Great job my friend, planting trees is a great way to help the natural environment, i have planted trees everywhere i have lived and also have helped plant many Orchards when i did farm work for several years.

I worked with a bee keeper for a few years also he use to get us planting willow trees everytime we went out to check on the Hives.

Which was several times a day because he had hundreds so i don't know how many we planted in that time.

@mypathtofire

Have a great day and good luck in the contest 😎

That is pretty awesome. I am glad to see there are some efforts to support the environment. I plan on heading camping this weekend and taking in some nature myself.

That sounds like a good plan! I hope to head out for a weekend at some point once I get myself organised.

If everyone helped even a little bit, we would have a healthier word. Thanks for sharing.
