How to use the tipping function with Ecency

In this guide I will show you how to use the tipping function in Ecency and also the different tipping options available.

The first thing to do is find the article where you want to send a tip! I found a great article here and want to reward the author, so, at the end of the article, just above the comment field I click on the Gift button.

It looks just like a wrapped gift box and once you click it, you get the following options:

Here you can see that you are able to gift Hive, HBD and Ecency points.

When you click on one of the options, you can see that your balance is then shown and matches your tipping type. In this case, I have decided to tip some Ecency points.

Here I click on "POINT" and then you can see your point balance is shown. The final step before clicking next is to enter how many points you want to tip. I have decided to tip 25.

You are then presented with a confirmation screen. Here you should click confirm.

In the next screen above, you are presented with a confirmation screen for the blockchain. Here you can enter your active key directly or just use Hivesinger or Keychain. I have opted for Keychain and click there.

This then gave me a keychain popup window. I confirm the transaction and I'm almost done.

After a short "success" message from the keychain, I get the confirmation from Ecency that the points are transferred.

The next step is optional, but I usually leave a message with the banner I created to say that I have tipped them. Mine looks like this below:

You can create a banner for yourself, here is a great article with step by step instructions.

Alternately you can visit the Ecency discord and check out the free to use banners created by the community.

A final step if you want to check if your Ecency tip has been transferred is to check your "Ecency Wallet". To access your wallet, click 1 as shown below and then on the 2, "Ecency Points" button.

Once there you can see all your Ecency transactions where I have marked with 3. Here you can see for example a tip that I have received for this article. All your given and received tips are viewable here.

If you have any questions, please leave them below or drop them in the Ecency discord channel. There are lots of experienced users there who are happy to help.

Also where do I view my list of points tips send? Can be the last step in the blog. I found it already and it worked 50 points are now yours

As the person who taught me how to tip, I tipped you 15 points as a thank you:)

Although, I’m finding it difficult to find the “gift box” on the iOs mobile app. I had to log into Ecency web to tip.

You can easily Tipp using the app by going into your points wallet and sending points as a gift. Then leave a banner on the post that you have just tipped to let them know that you sent it

Thanks for the tutorial, Steve!

Making an optional comment is an important one I think. Most of the tip tokens leave a comment after placing the command. So that you receivers are aware about the senders actions. But, who aren't on Ecency, I think they won't notice the tip unless we inform them via a comment.

They refuse all the boosts I ask for! 13 consecutive times. They even refuse the tip.
How can they refuse the nudge and the tip of this one, to which I gave only 150 points the minimum !

I don't think I have a problem.
It's since @lofone went over an article cheering me up and telling me it was from Ecency and then after I answered wrong, (answered wrong for him) he blocked me ignoring it. And, since then, all boosts are refused! All without exception!
Before @lofone went over an article and tried to give me a moral and was for Ecency about whether or not to accept the boost, I had no problem. There were sometimes refusals of boost, but only occasional.
In discord you lied to me, you told me it's because when you put 300 points, 400 or 500 it has to be an article that is worth it. So there are no specific rules about stitches and item lengths, or which stitch is accepted for which item. Everything is random and biased, depending on who will accept or refuse the boost.
Then I said to myself that I'm going to score 200 points, so you refuse. I say to myself then I will make 150 points, the minimum and you refuse. You refuse the boost of my article on Ukraine and I tell myself that you are pro Kremlin, pro Putin it is not possible otherwise. Or if not, in a biased way you see an image taken from the media, then you ignore the context of the article.
But, I'm not going to come back to the discord, after the lies, and I'm not going to bother you again on Discord because apparently you answered everything and for you I repeated the same questions.
But, I also see this for other people who are often denied the boost, so I tell myself that I'm not the only one with this boost problem.
You have to solve your problems with boost rules, but stop accepting boosts all the time from some and constantly refuse from others.

Probably coincidence, @lofone is not part of Ecency also not one of our curator. Our curators are human and they have 24 hours to review after content requested for boost. If they cannot review in time system automatically refunds no matter who it is and what content it is. I see following boost requests from your account, looks like last boost was 5 and 6 days ago, I don't know what happened, maybe it just timed out, curators were not able to review on time. Try again once you make new content, you got refund so nothing is really lost.

Hello @ecency, I was part of the guest curator program at that time and that was the reason I commented to dubignip's post. Also, I didn't tried to give him any moral lesson or whatever he says, the only thing that I suggested to him was just to cite the images he used at his posts politely. Also, @melinda010100 is aware of this situation and you can ask her for more information.
