I totally agree with your sentiments. I remember moving abroad for the first time and getting out of my comfort zone with all my pre-conceived misconceptions. It took a long time to shake many of these off and I doubt you can ever be 100% free of them as the propaganda was initiated from our early school days. If you want to find out how free you are, I think a good test is to see how far you can travel without any pieces of paper (passport) with you.

Well, that's just size of country here, lol. If you live in the middle you can drive for literally days. 😂
After we graduated high school, a couple of friends and I drove to my friend's dad's house (her parents were divorced so he lived in another state). We went from Denver to Louisiana - so we didn't even hit either coast - and we drove for 36 hours straight to get there, taking turns.
I told that to a friend in England and they were like, "IF I DROVE FOR 36 HOURS I'D BE IN TURKEY" lol
