Saturday Savers Club - Switching to HBD For Savings

Hello to all Saturday Savers. We are now at the end of week 11 and we are approaching the end of March. You can check what week it is here. Last week in the Saturday Savers Club we were asking what would $10 buy in your country here.

We were also discussing about using the great 20% interest rate for HBD to park some of our short-term savings.

I checked my bank and the current interest rates are:

Which is pretty rubbish still compared to the inflation and compared to HBD. Therefore, the money that I usually save for my yearly holiday, instead of saving it in the bank, I will move it to HBD and earn 20% APR instead!

With banks collapsing and being insolvent all around us, it is much safer in HBD too! That is one less bank account that I need to monitor, so it is a win/win situation!

On to this week's numbers:

My main target is to grow my Hive Power.

Start: 56314
Target: 100k
Current: 58902
To Go 41098

My Hive increased by 172 last week which is much lower than the previous weeks. I also was too slow in buying some Hive when the price dipped and now it is back up above $0,40. With Bitcoin surging towards $30k, I wonder if we will see any more dips to buy Hive cheap.

My second goal is to increase my ALIVE power to 25k. This is my current progress:

Start: 10025
Target: 25k
Current: 12832
To Go 12168

This week I staked 174 ALIVE tokens which was lower than last week, so I need to try and increase my amount of ALIVE tokens to stay on target towards my goal.

My final goal is to increase my staked SPS.

Start: 1539
Target: 50k
Current: 10690
To Go 39310

My SPS increased by 455 this week which is pretty decent. I am eyeing the market to make a big purchase of SPS and notice that SPS has also bounced strongly off of its lows. I am terrible at market timing! lol

You can see in the last week the price has gone from $0,23 to $0,29, which is a greater than 24% rise! This token has potential in my opinion and that is why I would like to have a good stack of it before Soulkeep and GLS are released!

I didn't pay attention to the SPS/USD chart and completely missed that it went up in price... I blame HIVE for that 😃 as compared with it, it looked like a "steady line"... I suppose that with the latest Splinterlands Land whitepaper and that PROMO card, it will continue to go up for the next couple of days... until people forget about it and buy those PROMO cards... It could be a good moment to buy some AFTER that...

As I'm accumulating GLX tokens, something similar happened there... When the validator license sale began, the GLX price pumped a bit, but after that, the hype went down, the new token distribution started (for license holders) and the price went down too...

Btw. those banks' APRs suck... 😂

Thanks for the heads up. I have some time, so will wait and see what happens to the price if it dips a little after the current round of FOMO. The other thing good for SPS will be when DEC hits its PEG, so we could start to see the SPS burning for DEC.. not sure how far off that is though.

Great work on your GLX, I hope I can build my bag fast enough to enjoy the rest of the airdrop, even with the juicy APR already past us.

Well, it doesn't amount to much yet.
I got 3 Alive from 50HP delegation and 3 Alive from my RC delegation and 0.016 ALIVEM from my 686 Alive delegation to @aliveandthriving xD

I really don't have any HP at the moment, since I am just powering down and putting it into HBD after thats complete I will use that dividends to build HP and maybe even more tokens again ^^ :D

HBD is providing us high Interest and i think it's a very good opportunity to earn and we shouldn't miss the opportunity. Saving asset in HBD is much better then saving in a bank. At least we will get multiple X profit comparing with Bank.

Looks like another good week of growth - nice work !
I wish I was brave enough to move personal savings into HBD - its probably a good move, but I've always kept personal savings and crypto separated.

172 HP for a week is a great number for me since I joined here last year. Hmm, seemed like sometimes some opportunities slip off. Well , maybe this week you will be luckier.

$10 is almost P500 value here, and that's enough to buy for my two days meal (I will be the one to cook)

I totally agree with you putting money into a bank right now is pointless and risky.
People are much better off moving it around and HBD is a solid choice the banks would never offer you 20%.
Get that money working.

From my perspective HBD in Savings is a far better choice than any fiat currency in banks. Even in your slower weeks you're doing exceedingly well Steve! I'm nowhere near your number yet! What is happening with the world economy and the banks is really worrying, we'll see how it all develops. For the moment HBD seems a safe bet with a nice return.
