Last weekend with the great weather, we were inspired to go for some walking. I had a quick look on the Komoot App for some inspiration and it recommended some hikes along the "Bergstrasse". This is a low hilly area that goes from South Hesssen down to North Baden and is a popular destination for day trips. My first idea was to visit to Heidelberg, but this meant then a bit longer drive. I then saw a walk for the "Altstadt" Old Town of Zwingenberg which looked really nice.

Here are some of my impressions from the old town on a sleepy Saturday afternoon. There were not so many people around which was really nice to have the streets almost to ourselves.

I took some photos of some of the old style buildings and some businesses occupying them. The main square was becoming very autumny with many trees losing their leaves. This is a wine producing region and there were views of grape fields visible from within the town. There were beer gardens and typically german wine restaurants with courtyards and beergardens. The wine specific ones are called a "Winestube" and are very popular in this region. In my next post I will share some more about one we saw.
