Should I reactivate my Hive Witness node ?
I think it was November 2020, I first become Hive witness. I didn't really know how to set everything up in the first place. However, our global Hive community members have really helped me out. So I'm forever grateful for the help I received.
During my 3 months break from Hive from June 2021 to deal with some personal life issues, I didn't update my node to run the new hard fork version (My node was missing blocks!) and I had many messages from our community members asking if they could help. Basically, I failed to manage my witness server. So I should think twice before I take this responsibility. I feel I'm ready for this and I'm confident I can avoid this kind of thing happening again.
Most of the Hive Witness seems to be software developers, so I asked myself it's kind of odd for a person like me to become Hive Witness.
Community development is as much valuable as Technology development.
So I should really be running a Witness node and participating in the blockchain governance. I try not to do play status games because, like crypto, Hive is a positive-sum game. Always trying to add value to our Hive network.
For example, I know there are many different views regarding downvotes. Me, becoming a witness will definitely make many of our community members happy and with long term thinking, I can be someone who can influence major governance decisions related to Hive.
Entrepreneurs are heroes in our society. They fail for the rest of us.
I failed many times with our Steem/Hive community and me putting more skin in the game with Hive can increase my odds to build something valuable for our global community.

Yo I would love it if you switch the blog and the vlog. I want to hear you speak you stories. I feel like you are just giving a short description of your vlog when you record the video but I think the text should be a short description of the story you share in your video. That would be much more engaging to watch (or just listen to)

I would love to create longer videos. As I’m currently staying in Sri Lanka, my internet capability is limited. I will look into get this fixed and soon I will be able to create longer Vlogs!!

Looking forward to it! Glad you took a break when you needed it but even gladder to have you back man. Don't burn out, do it your way.
We all are entitled to our own opinion, if it is ok by you then you can become one to also improve the platform in another aspect.
Maybe I already asked this, but what kind of hardware and software do you need to be a Hive witness? Can you do it a mobile internet connection (4G)? If yes, then how much data traffic do you need monthly? 30 GB is enough?
There are few ways to run your own Witness node.
Previously, I used Hive in a Box service subscription by @privex to run my node remotely.

This sounds interesting. Privex writes "Our VPS-HIVE and VPS-STEEM packages start from as low as $30/mo - and come pre-replayed; so you can often get a seed/witness up within 2-3 hours of payment :)"
It is also worth to mention that "For payment we currently accept HIVE, HBD, EOS, Doge, Monero, LTC and BTC. More to come soon. We do NOT accept any fiat methods currently".
I currently do not know how this works, but maybe I will think about running a Hive witness in the future, depending on the amount of the rewards I will receive on the Hive blockchain in long term. $30 USD per month is approximately the double of the monthly price of my mobile internet subscription. But if I will get proper amount of rewards (not just/only a few cents) in long term, then this should not be a problem.

Nowadays I am getting a relatively good income with Hive. I earned $439.08 USD with Hive, but this started just/only in the recent past. I earned cents in the past. We will see whether I will earn this (or better or worse) amount in the future in long term.
$30 USD is actually a lot of money for me. My total income in real life is approximately $470 USD per month, while the local minimum wage is approximately $550 USD per month, so nowadays I live under the local minimum wage.

I don't know much about being a witness and I know you for a while. However, I think that you have contributed alot to the HIVE Community. So why not try again?

To be honest, many users of the Global Hive community are friends. Who helped you in some cases. Every one of us has some personal problems in our life which cause us to become irregular from time to time. Anyway I think you are a good witness.

I think you should start up your own witness. In the case you are busy, I think there are people who can make sure it's up to date if you want to pay them for managing it.

I think if you run it in sharing basis like a community witness then someone can take care in your absence, if that happens again.
