How many more posts do I have to read about the problems with curation which will last for a few days due to a glitch from HF25? I really don't quite understand it all and my eyes have glazed over at most of the posts.
It's a glitch. It lasts for a week I believe but you'd think everyone had just lost all their HP and now everyone is discussing curation and some are gaming the system and others are refusing to curate.
For fucks sake. Chill out!
Look at it this way. HF25 was introduced to make more money for big stakeholders stop the curation gaming and make it more fair whatever time you autovoted read a post and upvoted it!
Let's just pretend this is a final throw of the dice for curation gamification as it goes into history in a blaze of glory!
I do feel a lot of sympathy for the few truly manual curators out there but generally speaking...
NO ONE DIED. THE CHAIN DIDN'T GET DELETED!
People who posted about this have probably made more from their post on the subject than they lost on curation.
I will now crawl back under my rock and do as I've always done...

I know, what a carry on. Fair play to anyone who has the time running round slapping on votes or re-votes, I guess there's some sense in keeping an eye on malactors (is there, though? 🤔), and sorry curation trails, I appreciate you have some PR to do with your delegators, but really?
It amused and exasperated me at the same time. The good news is that it's only a few more days, and the really good news is that I'm not married to any of these mountain-out-of-a-reset-fomo-mofos.
LOL...lovely to see you! Every other hard fork in the last 4 years and we've had numerous issues, chain being down for days and goodness knows what. I never noticed a thing this time until people started posting pics of how they'd lost millions in curation rewards due to some bloke form Timbuktu sticking a 0.001cent vote on at 37 minutes and 18 seconds before post payout time!

I hear you! People don't know they're born (in an entirely unrelated gripe, I've just had to put up with a young whippersnapper, barely three months on the chain and with 2p in their wallet, lecturing me about Hive). Please!

Haha.., I will be glad when it's all back to normal again. The pressure of curating can get too great..., and yeah I'm taking advantage of it.

Not everyone is happy about this. I haven't gone crazy and depleted all my VP but a few others have. If you do this... then there will be no curation for the week after and all new posts for a week will have less support. It's all about balance and I still want to vote on current posts and have some VP for them. If I didn't do it at all.., I would have have zero curation for this week.
As I said.. I will be glad when we return to normality. It's causing a little unrest.
Yes, I noticed a number of people who totally voted themselves to nothing and others who were refusing to vote. Not sure why there is unrest really, it's only a few days and if the chain had gone down as it did before on HF20? for three or 4 days, they'd have not been able to curate anyway!

See here. Yes, I'm going out on Sunday.. though it's slim pickings. With the lockdowns ending the builder dudes are reno'ing everything and seals are magically appearing everywhere on derps. It's sad times for us.

Life is a little slow right now. I'm taking the summer off and the days are melding into one. I could do with some action to wake me up. How's you? Is @c0ff33a hosting another northern meet soon?
I wish I was - London Councils just posted their grants programme application timetable - closing date 27 August 2021. Doesn't look like I'll be getting a summer holiday.
Other than that, I am good, mustn't grumble. Could do with seeing folks, though. As far as I know, September is still on for a meet-up, but I believe @c0ff33a is v. busy right now.
Can we have a summer holiday? To take one here, we get raped on prices and overseas is still a lot of hassle. I'm am veto'ing the holidays once again.

I’m hedging my bets on September at the moment @shanibeer but I’m really concerned everything is going to slide towards restrictions again - you only have to look at the Delta Plus variant which is unaffected by vaccines to realise this is a long term battle with a rapidly mutating virus. I can just see arranging another Hive meetup and then having few attendees because people are too scared or new restrictions are in place putting them off. That said I don’t have to work to a time schedule - so I will see how things are early August.

A meetup would be something new as they no longer happen. I think lockdown 3 may start beginning of winter. The sooner the better.

It kinda sucks. I manually curate, so now I did go back to re-vote for a few posts, but overall, it's just a small hickup. We'll live!

I do really like not having to compete for fair curation rewards with bots within the first 5 minutes of a post. The only thing I could see happen is that it might become even more interesting to pile onto a big-reward post in the first 24 hours, so I do hope the posts of newbies won't be forgotten. But hey, that's always been a thing here, right?
Well, maybe you should read on more post about this "problem" and have the last laugh. I promise you won't have any desire to read anything else about this eerie "subject" Hahahaha. };)

I actually noticed my curation went to shit when I glanced at hive stats, the leofinance other page. I was a little annoyed by it but figured it might have been a bad day of voting then it dawned on me it was probably related to the fork.
I think people will just want something to complain about for the fork. The last two forks were a nightmare for issues and chain performance so there were a lot of people chomping at the bit to figure out something to complain about lol. I’m glad it’s as easy as this! A little issue with curation rewards is far better than sites posting about how hive is down, the chain is unusable and everyone is quitting!!!111 I think they did that for one of the last forks if I remember correctly.
