What Do You Think About the Fact that Mankind are the Only Creatures that Pay to Live on the Planet

I ran into this meme while loitering around social media and different thoughts hit me one after the other. The first thought was "Touché, my monkey brother, touché." that thought stemmed from an acceptance that the monkey was right, men were the only ones who paid to stay on the planet. Then my next thought was that this was a calamity that has befallen the human specie, how unfortunate that man has to pay and go balls deep into debt just to live in the world.

But I held this second thought for
only a few seconds because soon my brain flooded me with so many arguments about why that was not a calamity at all and this is what I want to talk about/explore.

First of all that meme is a joke and makes logical sense only on face value, once you think about it a little deeper you'd come to the realization that it's logic is inadequate. When you read the statement "you are the only creature that pays to live on earth" you are only impressed because you don't keep in mind that money is not a different type of price to pay. It's the same price as what animals pay.

What price do animals like monkeys have to pay to live on the planet? Effort, right? That is the same for humans, the money man pays to live on the planet is made through effort too so the price man pays and the price other animals pay are the same thing - effort!.

There's a difference though, take this scenario: a man wants shelter he doesn't simply direct his effort into beginning the project, instead he directs his efforts to making money which he would then use to begin the project. An animal who wants a house, say a bird, immediately applies it's effort directly on building the house by going around picking small sticks and straws and the stuff it needs for building. All effort.

Is it true that men have to put more effort to live in the world than animals do? You see it's really hard to say that, right? In some aspects it would seem the animals have it better while in some other aspects it would seem man has it better.

For example, a monkey in the wild can go around eating the fruits growing on trees by only reaching out and eating em but usually a man has to earn money or farm in order to eat. But in the case of an injury or ailment how well can a monkey sustain itself when they can't make clutches, wheel chairs or carry out medical treatment? In the end they'd die, in the bid to stay on the planet they'd pay with their lives. So the fact that one side might have in better or worse in some aspects makes it really hard if not impossible to say for sure that other creatures pay less.

In the end, we all paid some prices. Even the plant has to stretch their roots to get nutrients in other to survive.
