A time for change.

We have seen a shift in lifestyle

These past couple of years have seen a massive shift in how things are done. Covid changed the game form all angles. One of the biggest was work life balance as people woke up to the fact that the office wasn't everything. That work didn't own your life and that you could make better use of your time.

I love the fact that the country has reset itself to pre corporate levels. That people are working from home, enjoying there family life and making more time for themselves rather than wasting it all traveling to work and at work.

There is a reason that we are seeing a baby explosion in the country at the moment. People spent more time with their families in the past couple of years than ever before.

People have woken up to the fact that they can have much more than they were getting and that life is about so much more than what they were told.

I was watching the late late chat show last night on tv. It's an Irish institution that has been going for the past 40+ years.

Anyway they do a show every year on local brands and small business which i love to watch. Coming form big business i love the thoughts of someday having my own little business that i can put my passion and effort into. Something that i own and can either win or lose on my own efforts.

People have made a big switch.

It was amazing to see how many people had started their own businesses over the past couple of years. Started and grown these businesses. Some through the necessity of losing their own jobs but a lot through wanting a better quality of life.

Their was a person who used to work in international law that now keeps bees and sells natural honey internationally. It started as a hobby since she had kids with allergies and wanted the honey for them. Then a hobby became a passion and a passion turned into a business.

This set a theme for the full show as so many people took small ideas, passions, hobbies and turned them into a way to earn money. It was great to see it and more than that they were pushing sustainable products, local suppliers and bringing jobs to the area.

This is a great to see for everybody. More small businesses, more jobs created. Better lifestyles for everybody and a change in culture. A change for the better.

I would love to see even more people taking this road going forward and with a lot of my friends leaving the city and moving back to rural life i can see more and more people switching to a quieter pace of life.

Technology has made communication and transportation a lot cheaper. I am looking forward to when VR/AR becomes part of reality because it will open up a lot of options no matter where you are in the world.

This will bring an interesting change to our lifestyles when the technology catches up.

In my place they are pushing for things to return to normal, pre covid. We will wait and see but i expect there will be a small revolt!

The people at the top are going to be seriously deplaced as the dynamic shifts when you're working from home.

A lot of companies are trying that as it suits them better rather than all of the employees who are benefiting form the changes. I'm retail so was always in work but my GF is an accountant and has a much better lifestyle without going to the office and still gets all of the work done.

She also has an extra 12 hours a week from not commuting and more hours from not getting ready to go to the office. Wasted time where she can now take a walk in the country and be home for dinner in the evening.

A mixed workplace is the way forward with remote working here to stay. People will vote with their feet if the companies refuse to listen. I hope that everybody revolts and forces this through.

Ya it's great to see that. I sometimes think about how I could one day make my love of golf my job somehow. I'm a Communications engineer by trade, so something in the engineering side of ball design or club design could work some day..

I even thought about trying to build mt own launch monitor and if I'm successful maybe sell them to others...

Who knows..
