Back to the grind.

A change is as good as a rest.

We all need to step back form time to time and recharge our batteries.

It's not always easy to turn up every day and put yourself through the grind. It's necessary but from time to time the fun goes out of stacking.

You can so much effort into the system that to appreciate the results, you need to step back.

Xmas was a great chance to do this as it was a time to meet family and friends.

A lot of them knew that i was making changes to my life and were curious as to how it all worked. They know that i have some involvement in crypto but like a lot of people, don't really know what that means.

I don't like to give out too much detail but even by telling them that there are ways to earn online and that i can now work for myself. It made me appreciate the benefits of hive and crypto that much more.

Hive is a grind.

It's a fun grind but it's still intensive.

To get the most out of the system then you need to put the time in to make it work.

You need to manage all of the assets and keep up to date with development.
You need to put in the work and keep earning daily.

You need to be consistent and build your profile. To get support, you need to grind. More so at the start but that never goes away.

It's easy to earn a few dollars with little effort but it takes a lot of time and effort to get to the level where you can build consistent revenue and decent levels of support.

It's a fun way to spend your time and talking to my friends has given my fresh motivation to keep building. To set up even more passive revenue streams and to put safety switches in place with HBD and other stable assets.

It all comes back to long term thinking and showing up every day.

That is and always has been the foundation for everything that i do here on a daily basis and a good place to start in any endeavor.

I was also inspired by the post by jongolson when he looked back at his Hive journey. We need to show up everyday here and work our butt off.

Same sentiments my friends knew about what I am doing and asking how to do it but after a few information and discussion they just tend to not care anymore. Kinda sad on that part but can't force them to join if their hearts isn't there.

I like Jon as well. Haven't read his latest post but i can guess the general message.

Turn up every day and be consistent.

It works 100% of the time. Most people are not built to do this and miss out on the benefits. The look on and wonder why they are left behind but are not willing to put in the work to get there.

A few have joined but none of them have put in any work to grow.

At Christmas, I was one of only two people at the table who had a clue about crypto. The topic somehow came up at the other end of the table (I missed the start of it), but it was all FUD, NFT’s are just pictures, Bitcoin is a scam, etc. I mentioned that Bitcoin’s value came from the fact that it’s the most secure network ever. The FBI has been hacked, the CIA has been hacked, Wells Fargo has been hacked, but Bitcoin has never been hacked.

Blank stares. Then more FUD talk, Hive even less real than Bitcoin. Huh?

Oh well, back to showing up every day.

"Blank stares" lol I know exactly what you mean. You feel like you're trying to help people, but there's this invisible barrier that you just cannot penetrate. I think most people need to hear it from multiple "normal" sources before they believe us.

I think that we need a medium option to get them started.

An app of some sort that is so easy to use that they don't even know its blockchain linked.

Then slowly introduce tokens, nft's and exchanges over time instead of a wall of info.

NFT’s are just pictures, Bitcoin is a scam, etc.

We all know that they will learn differently at some stage after most of the opportunity is gone already but some are so willing to just read headlines without looking into a topic that it's sad.

If they did any research they would see all the positives behind the scams and meme coins and see the real utility of crypto and nft's. They will get there someday but if people are not willing to educate themselves then there isn't much that you can do about it.

We all know what is being built and have done our best to spread the word.

As you said. More hive for us.

These are very true words. I would say that your effort needs to (and often does) match tour true desires. If you desire to be a whale on Hive, your actions need to match that desire. If they don't, perhaps you don't really desire it as much as you think you do.

I say this knowing that I have neglected hive in recent times. I do that. My activity flows in waves and the state of my account reflects that.

That's a good statement and has the smell of a good post about it.

Some people will become whales but there is plenty room for small to mid accounts too that show up once in a while.

There should be a good balance across the system for a proper decentralized economy. I would like to become a whale someday but don't know if i can put in that much effort.

Maybe in a few more years.

The grind is really not easy, a lot of time, effort, and dedication are greatly required to make things happen, may grace continuously work in our favor.

That's true but it can be done and over time those effort will compound to make growth easier.

It takes time but it's time well spent.

It's hard to connect to others outside hive sometimes.

The things that you find interesting just get blank looks back at you. There is an interest but when you try to explain parts of the eco-system they glaze over a bit.

We need an onboarding vehicle like noise.cash to slowly bring them in and then keep pushing them further along every week.

We all need a break every now and then. During my Christmas dinner, nobody brought up the topic of crypto so I let is sit on the side. Just throwing your HBD into savings is a great idea as you collect the APR from your blogging efforts. Eventually it will pay off but it takes a while before it happens.

Thats a good idea.

Taking a break is nice and healthy. We need outside interests in life to keep it interesting.

I'm loving HBD and will keep putting my post earnings into the savings account every day to let it earn. 12% is nothing to be sniffed at and a good safety net against a crash.

Hoping to build it up to a million HBD someday in the future.
