What is really important in life?

I'm sure that a lot of people have been like me today watching world events unfolding.

As Russia brings chaos and war to the civilized world it's hard to believe the images that we are seeing on our screens tonight.

These are images that we usually associate with Africa or the middle east where resources are scarce and education is limited. Years of oppression lead to a powder keg mentality among the countries and different groups struggle to come out on top backed by foreign interference.

I would have thought that developed countries like Russia had come far too long down the track to resort archaic and immoral options that bring death and chaos to other developed countries.

It's crazy to think that we could be watching history repeat itself when we have the knowledge to do better as a society.

The effect will be long and far reaching.

This is a move that brings uncertainty to the world.

"All is changed, changed utterly."

The world itself is linked like never before. Every developed country is intrinsically linked to every other developed country.

The Russian state has triggered a set of sanctions that cuts them off economically from the rest of the world with more to follow.

In a different time each country could have stood by itself but in these modern times they all lean on each other to survive.

Russia are cutting themselves off from the western hemisphere with this move and the worst part is that again it will be the innocent that are affected most.

It will be the regular people and businesses that get hit with shortages and lack of options. From what i can see in the media the popular Russian opinion is against this war and it is the government that is undertaking it on their own agenda. Not that of the Russian people.

This will hit every economy, every industry, every population and every government as lines are drawn. We might be a world away from the situation but we will all feel the difference as it progresses.

There is never a good enough reason to invade another country and bring death to their population.

If you are invading another independent country then you are on the wrong side of history.

If you stand by and let it happen then you are on that same side.

The difference now to previous wars is that this one is fought on social media just as much a it's fought on the ground. Governments can no longer hide from their actions as Russian can see every minute of what is happening on their phones and have come out in huge numbers to say, "Not in our name."

Money is not important in times like these.

We have seen stocks and markets dump on the news of war but that is not the important thing right now.

We have governments afraid to take the strongest sanctions against Russia out of fear of reprisal and pain but that should not be important.

We can't fight them on the ground but if all of us need to take a little monetary pain to help the Ukrainians and force the Russian army back over the border then I think that every government should be willing to push that button and take the hit.

Show the world what is really important when the chips are down. People over profit.

My thoughts are with the poor people in the Ukraine tonight that are praying for survival and hope that my government do the right thing and push back in the strongest terms even if it hurts us as an economy.

It will hurt Russia even more.

It seriously dumbfounds me in the world we live in today that is so connected that this kind of crap can still happen. I highly doubt anyone supports this war and if they do seriously shame on them. Legit madness and the entire world should not tolerate such garbage. I'm changing my ways by never buying or supporting another China based company ever again and instead accumulating more wealth that aims to take it away from them. It infuriates me and I'm sure many others that this is going on right now. I legit hope more and more citizens rise up in Russia and anti war protest. Many of these people talk to us every day online in games, business and overall activities. No war should ever be supported unless it is in defense of freedom from an aggressor which sadly may get worse. But like I said I'm changing my ways and if more people do these small changes add up to big changes in terms of giving these untrusty A holes less and less power. I am more than willing to go through hard times growing my own food, not driving and so forth I hope many others are and take actions as well. I'd be honest in saying I'm not mad at the Russian people I'm mad at he few leaders that try and rule and run this world and cause havoc like this for no reason.

I don't think most people don't support the war. Only the politicians and businessmen who will profit from this actually wins. Well there are news that there will be some negotiations happening and I hope it doesn't escalate further.

Well said. It's hard to believe what we are seeing now. Hope for a quick resolution and an end to such things.
