Maxing out my chaos deck for splinterlands.

How many cards are in the chaos legion?

As we move forward in splinterlands it looks like it is going to be very important to have a well rounded chaos deck as the season splits into two leagues.

To compete in the old style league you would need about 50k to build a properly competitive deck. Luckily i have medium deck to compete here from the past few years but that is at a Diamond I scraping into Champion III on a good season.

So that leaves us with a new chaos deck. To build out a maxed version of this will still likely cost around 10K but there is no time like the present to get it started.

There are no definite sums here but looking at a rough guide to see what would be involved.

  • Common 29 cards, roughly $40 each = $1160
  • Rare 28
    • Monsters 23 cards, roughly $35 each, = $805
    • Summoners 5 cards, roughly $402 each = $2012
  • Epic 17 cards, roughly $90 each = $1530
  • Legendary 21 cards, roughly $91 = $1917
    • Doctor Blight, $1200

That's looking like $7,424 for a full set not including Doctor Blight which would bring it up to $8,624 in a rough estimate.

I won't even look at what it would take to max out gold versions.

I did buy a few chaos packs but not enough to make a dent in this. I'll take it one week at a time and keep adding to the collection slowly form my rental income. That is about $400 a season so it will take a while but not forever.

I will also put bids in for the most expensive cards and hope to get them cheaper than current prices combined with a few lucky reward chests to take the sting out of it.

Current state of affairs.

  • Common (2) 29
  • Rare (3) 28
    • Monsters (3) 23
    • Summoners (0) 5
  • Epic (1) 17
  • Legendary (4) 21
    • Doctor Blight (0) 1

So that's currently a total of 13 out of the total 124 possibilities. A long way to go yet.

This weeks purchases.

These are the two cheapest legendary cards on the market so hopefully a few of the other ones will drop by next week. I only needed one and a half to max out two more cards today and bring my total to 15 out of 124.

I'm very happy with that for today and will keep buying cards along the way to get to the finish line.

16 legendary base cards for $64 isn't too bad at all and a lot cheaper than beta cards these days.

As with everything in this space it is a long term game. I will get to the end slowly and surely by earning DEC and putting it back into my deck.

Splinterlands is my long term plan for crypto so it's important to stock up while things are cheap. They wont be for too much longer.

Try for yourself.

If you haven't played the game before then now is the best time to join. Today is much better than tomorrow and a lot better than later.

Cards worth a few cents now will have a much higher value in the future as the print runs out. We have a strong community and seen this happen every time as it grows with the game.

Lets freakin goooooo I'm curious where you land for season rewards I see no reason why you should make it to champion right now.

That sounds like a pretty ambitious strategy. How are are both of those legendary cards? I don't really know if I like the fact that they only attack every other turn.

You have to keep in mind something about modern and wild formats. Modern means Chaos + Untamed (and the respective reward cards), plus possibly Dice (not sure). As a rule, the last two full sets will be able to be played in the modern format. That brings the total needed to max a deck for modern quite higher than 10k.

I like your patient, yet steady approach to getting all those cards. :)
