The blank stares of non believers.

They just don't understand.

Someday, they will.

But not today.

We are still a long way from my dad sending me bitcoin for my birthday.

My friends joining a splinterlands league or my kids owning their own web3 accounts.

To the majority of people a lot of this would just be gibberish.

What's an NFT?

Where is the web3?

Sending digital money to my account and using a DEX to swap tokens for a DEFI account.

I can see the confusion.

It is a lot to take in at the start and we are far from there.

But we will get there, someday.

We need a beginner level for crypto.

Apps that sign up the same as always and feel like the old system.

That allow you to create a new avatar. The same as always. Then maybe mint it onto a chain yourself, this would give them an introduction to nft's. How minting works, how immutable accounts work, how trades work, how secondary markets work. All from an app that feels like every other app.

Beginner steps for a complicated topic.

Games that let you in just like the old versions. Then you earn tokens and cards like splinterlands.

Suddenly you have nft's, crypto, defi, trading, cross chain operations all level by level and learn the ropes.

It doesn't have to happen all at once like with hive. We need intermediary steps to bring people in gradually and then teach them as they dig a bit deeper into the workings of the apps.

A common trend.

I noticed a common trend in the posts that appeared after the xmas break. A lot of people met friends and family in situations where crypto came up in conversation.

This is natural as most people know that you have an interest in the subject and want to have a chat.

Most just don't understand and get that blank look.

The more you try to explain crypto, the more blank looks that you get and the further they edge away from the conversation.

Maybe that's why Khal called the new app, "Project Blank."

To have an app that bypasses those blank looks and brings in the users to level one. The beginner level and entryway to the matrix.

An invite to see the rest.

I hope that we will see the first app that can do this in big numbers.

A front end of dapp that could onboard and get them going would definitely help them navigate the puzzle. Gotta keep pushing forward!

I'm hoping that project blank from leofinance will make this happen but if they don't eventually somebody will.

Whoever can make that happen will bring in the masses and make the chain explode.

I don't know what your world view is, but I consider myself a voluntaryist/ anarchist and it took me a long, long time to come to the place where I am now. It's good for me to remember where I came from and that others have not travelled down the deep holes we may have.

Their paths are sure to be different than mine.

The problem you mentioned is why I created my project for myself. I want a place to curate the ideas I'm interested in and I haven't seen one yet.

It's funny, I thought that I would look into all the alphabet departments and government solutions to curate and index them for myself and others to use and understand, but that caused be to become an anarchist, lol.

Anyway, I'm getting off on tangents in an effort to say that we have the tools, now we need to use them and documentation is critical, as is good messaging.

Platforms like #Hive give us the opportunity to make this all happen.

I don't think the paradigm shift is inevitable, but we have seen what Linux has done to Microsoft... The flood becomes a tsunami with becomes the great flood. That's my belief and my hope.

That said, I don't think we need to worry about the masses. We just need to do what we think is right and everything will work out.

I'm not an anarchist per say as i do believe that we need structure for the world to work. We always have and the real issue for me at the moment is that our structures are bloated and corrupt.

They have gotten worse and worse over the past few decades to the point that our government is self serving and a money making machine rather than a vehicle to improve the country as it was designed.

I would tear down every part of it bit by bit and rebuild efficient and accountable services that improve life for the majority of our citizens while ensuring that people everybody has access to the basics but nobody gets it for free. I believe that transparency would fix a lot of todays problems as there should be nothing to hide from the people.

That said, I don't think we need to worry about the masses. We just need to do what we think is right and everything will work out.

I think that if enough of us believe in the project and keep growing it that over time it will take off. We can see the benefits to the wider community and with the right tools they will come over time.

Most just don't understand and get that blank look.

Dude, a few weeks ago a friend asked a related. In answering I got away, dude just stood up and and went to start a conversation with someone else. 😂 It was kind of confusing but later understood my mistake.

But yeah, a beginner level is needed.

That's brilliant.

I think that we all get the crazy look when somebody is silly enough to ask us about crypto.

I might draw up a beginners guide to crypto and just hand it out when my friends ask the question.

Something simple and non scary.

I think the gaming space is the easiest to convert people over. While real world trading is usually frowned upon in large MMOs, I think people wouldn't mind a way to legally convert the in-game currency into real money value. People have been doing their own deals behind the companies back for a while now and it's the slowest way to get them started.

However big games usually don't like to do that because in-game purchases are better for them overall if they use their shop and their services.

Playtoearn will get very big in the next couple of years.

It will be interesting to see how it fits legally speaking with taxes and earnings.

It's only a matter of time before a bigger game studio takes a stab at it too but i would expect that will happen when there are clearer regulations in place as they wont want to throw money at it when they could lose it all.

The bigger game studios have tried it so far and it hasn't gone well. Then again most of what they did was a centralized mess and the process for getting the NFTs were also kind of bs.

Perhaps not a long way after all

Perhaps 2025 people will be sending their children bitcoin, Ethereum, hive , Leo as birthday gift instead of cake

Every year is a big advancement in crypto.

By 2025 we will see a huge shift forwards and it's hard to even imagine what the whole scene will look like.
