Doing Drum & Bass Remixes of Computer Game Music - Killer Instinct - 1995

This was a really fun one to work on - winding the clock back to 1995 and Rare's answer to some of the platform fighting games such as Tekken and Mortal Kombat came in the form of Killer Instinct.

However, this one game with a twist as there was an accompanying CD (that's Compact Disc for the young kids), which had the soundtrack of the background music of the game.

I still have the CD somewhere but it's easy enough to find on YouTube these days:

To be fair, the whole CD is like a 90s music time capsule for dance music! Although "Do It Now" is definitely my favourite from the whole offering, there were some other great ones on there.

This one takes the lead though with the eastern sounds, the "Kabuki Yo" roar at the beginning and the melody that comes in around the 1 minute mark. Catchy AF!

You know the drill, things sound a LOT better at 174 BPM and I couldn't help but remix this tune from my childhood so here is my latest update on it, really close to completion, hopefully get the full master done and dusted along with some of the other works in progress I've been sharing the last couple of weeks:

Are there any games you played on that you loved the soundtrack to?

Let me know

Nicky
