Liquid Drum & Bass - Nicky Havey - Hasten To Forget

Bird Brain

I never thought I'd have a headache from learning about all the different kinds of birds we have in the local countryside but that's exactly what's happened today! A few weeks ago, I found out about a "festival of hiking" which is running throughout Spring here and signed up for one of them with my Dad. When we got given binoculars at the beginning of the hike, I was strangely excited about what was in store as I'd never really done any bird watching whatsoever!

Not only was the hike great fun, it was awesome to get outside in the countryside, learning something totally new and training my ears to listen out for all kinds of different birds. I never knew how many different species we had around here but as the walk progressed, there were moments when it was epic to be surrounded by nature, listening to various calls from birds such as the chaffinch, kites, white throat, pheasants and the best name of them all, great tit, which sounds like a squeaky wheel!

This experience really helped me forgot my stresses and so it felt appropriate to share one of my own tracks that I made called "Hasten to Forget", which I made after finding solace when travelling around USA to Bear Lake in the Rocky Mountain National Park. That's also where the picture is taken for the cover artwork of this track:

Binoculars Are Cool

The guide gave us some binoculars which were actually pretty powerful and there was a sky lark I was tracing for a good minute through them, watching it's ascent before it nose dived and flapped it's wings frantically as it slowed its descent and landed safely in the crops. When I stopped looking through the binoculars, it took a couple of seconds to adjust my bearings again as it was like looking through a microscope! That bird was about 200 metres away but through the binoculars, it was like it was a couple of feet away.

That's some pretty cool sh*t! I may have to buy a pair of binoculars and look at things close up, great fun! Anyway, as if you didn't need any more proof of nerd, there you have it lol!

How was your Saturday? Get up to much?

Nicky

I am so happy you had such a great day, hiking and birdwatching! Cool Nicky, your writing even shines with more optimism. 🌟

Listening to the track as well right now, it sounds cool too! Bright, it flies like the birds you were watching today!

Thank you Queen of Tiotown! It was actually really nice to have something different to think about and hearing the different birdsongs was perfect! I couldn't tell you what each bird sounds like though haha 🐦

You will learn to recognize it next time then :)
Have you imagined looking the birds flying on the sky... from space? :D

Space bro, it sounds like reality without wearing the pink glasses 😅

Space birds? Those sound pretty cool! Not sure sound travels too well in space though so I may not be able to hear them haha!

Hahaha, but I said imagine :p
That way you can hear and see whatever you want :)

Have a great Sunday evening Space birdwatcher 😋

I recently learned that fruit trees respond to birds and studies show that it influences the growth in oranges for instance. I find it so fascinating that trees can hear. Makes a nice hike with birdwatching even more interesting?
