Seems Everyone Is Really Excited To Be Back At Work This Week...

Oh wait, no they're not ๐Ÿ˜‚

Jeez, even though we only had a 4 day work week (Monday was a public holiday in the UK), it was a challenge. There wasn't anyone I spoke to at work (including customers) who, after saying "happy new year", had any "happiness" at all in their voice.

As soon as they said those words, you could hear the realisation in their voice like "shit, we're back doing this nonsense again"!

It was pretty sweet not having to set the alarm for 11 days, seems my natural body clock goes with the flow of the daylight and being in the cloudy UK, it stays dark for a while so getting up before midday would be enough to leave me pleasantly surprised.

So this week, breaking that natural sleeping pattern back 4 hours left this guy grouchy AF!

Thankfully, we could all vent about it at work as colleagues called when on they were on the road, still clinging on to the good vibes from Xmas as the 12th day came and went. Decorations gone, tree gone...

Oh how we all missed the corporate fun and games, managers pointing blame, spats with colleagues over processes... let's not forget the "Teams meeting bingo game"!

Ah well, you can but smile wryly, keep your head down and stay out of trouble... and listen to drum and bass music of course

Hope your return to work was pain free :)

Nicky

Hahahaha, I love that image. I haven't had that sort of glee the last few years (I've been lucky enough to work with competent people), but before then it was always the best feeling in the world to return to chaos.

Haha, I'm jealous of you being able to work with competent people. That must be one of life's luxuries ๐Ÿ˜‚

lol. I'll admit, it certainly helps to make Monday morning suck less.

I know I'm weird but I've thankfully found a job where I don't get annoyed by having to be back at work lol. It's been a few years since I've had that issue and I'm hoping to keep that up as long as I can but I don't want to get complacent and come to learn that I need to switch jobs. Hope you had a good new years dude! Really glad to see you post in this community dude, it's welcome to anything you'd like!

Nothing weird about that man! Think that's something to strive for if anything! Switching jobs regularly is not ideal for many reasons but I always think it's good to whittle down what you don't want to do and nothing ventured, nothing gained. Eventually you will find something or you just create your own company!

Thanks man, new years was great - hope yours was too! If I have more ranty things that come up, I'll be sure to add them. Or is this community also open for general stuff as well?

Being self-employed when I take time off the work just builds and builds, plus sales usually go down so I come back to less income and more work lol

Yeah that's a different ball game altogether when you're self-employed hey! There's pros and cons with both sides but I'm sure you'll get back in to the swing of it in no time!
