Starting The Exercise Routine Again...
Before the lazy last couple of weeks happened over Xmas, I was in a routine of doing a 10-15 minute spell of push-ups and sit-ups, along with some flexibility exercises to help stretch out, seeing as posture gets pretty bad sitting down all day at work.
Starting tomorrow, I'll be starting it all again and see if I can get rid of this slight spare tyre that seems to easily manifest itself.
I use an app called "Push-ups" and "Sit-ups" which has a set routine each day that feeds back depending on how you felt on the session.
I'd recommend using that if it's something you want to do.
However, watch out for wrist strain injuries when doing push-ups! I have ordered some of those push-up bars to help with this and going to check that the form is good, which I hope will alleviate the pain.
In any case, if you found yourself getting in to bad fitness habits over the last couple of weeks, join me in getting an exercise routine going and we'll see how it goes when Summer comes!
Here's a tune to help you "Start Again" 😃
Aw man, if only it were as easy as using an app to get all those pushups done. 😂 yeah, I need to get back into it, too. Christmas does me in every year.
Haha, I know, I'd definitely be downloading that app if it made getting a six pack and into shape automatically happen!
Did a work out yesterday but the RSI on the wrist came back so I tried doing push-ups on the knuckles. That did solve the problem of the wrist pain but push-ups on knuckles is hard AF! Time to fight off the Xmas pounds :)
OMG, I thought I was the only one who ever had to do knuckle pushups, too. My left wrist occasionally gives in and informs me it's going on strike so, yeah, I feel your knuckle pain.
Interesting idea for an app. I'll give it a look although I generally don't do situps because of lower back issues.
Here is the app for the pushups:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.northpark.pushups&hl=en_GB&gl=US
It's pretty good, syncs up to Google fit and gives you a training program. I've used it for a couple of years.
Sorry to hear about your lower back issues, is that from exercise or something else?
I think my back issues stem from the fact that my real job is on a computer and I have pretty terrible posture. It could also be from sportsing incorrectly in the past. I'm not sure about this but I don't want it to get any worse so I am really careful these days.
Thanks for the app link, i'll give it a whirl.
I am in the same position, sitting down all day. There's hip flexor exercise you can do which help straighten the back and activate the right hip muscles. I need to do them more often though - this dude does some good exercise routines that can help, one of a few exercise videos I've tried
I still do pushups up to that day, in my routine every 3 days of workout. It's the best way to keep some strength, I would add dips, pull-ups and chinups too. Good job dude! Now let me listen to the track
Good work on keeping fit and strong mate. Exercise has saved me mentally over the years and I'll do what I can to keep going with it!
Very cool track 😎☺️
Thanks man! 🙌
