Easter Cakes, or Easter 2022

Hi all!
Tonight Orthodox Christians await the Resurrection of Christ, the Easter of the Light. The Holy Fire has descended. It's going to be a miracle!

I've been baking Easter cakes for years. I bake them according to an old recipe. These are the kind of cakes my grandmother used to make. They are delicious and classic. I didn't like such cakes when I was a kid. And now everyone in our family loves them.

It's a long recipe. I started making the dough at 8 a.m. I finished baking at 3 p.m. There are simpler recipes, but my kids and husband ask for this particular Easter kulich.

The Easter basket is ready, I will go to the night service. You could have consecrated the cakes during the day. But I usually go to the night service.

In general, the process is interesting)
