CHANGING PERSPECTIVE ABOUT CRYPTOCURRENCY.

My views on cryptocurrency and decentralised community are gradually changing in so many ways. One of such ways is how I view opportunities. This has made me reexamine my strategy for the long haul. In other words, I want to play differently than I have for the past 3-4 years.

I haven’t been one of those people who have defined their crypto experience or journey by chasing the next big thing. I have practically stuck to the same thing over the years and that has worked for me–especially in achieving my off-chain goals. Being a creator–which has been my major means of creating and earning value in the crypto space– has become a thing of convenience rather than necessity.

Nevertheless, I do want to change the way I interact with the blockchain. First, crypto shouldn’t be my (major) source of income. For a lot of people starting out here on hive/leofinance, it can be, especially when you are from my part of the world. It takes a lot to make this work short term, but in the long haul, you might need to make a lot of sacrifices for it to become sustainable.

Away from the earning side of cryptocurrency, I think there is a huge opportunity for many young people, especially from my part of the world, to play a more important role in the development of this space, which can bring tons of value to our communities–giving us a seat at the table. We can create opportunities and solutions, rather than just being bottom feeders.

From a personal standpoint, I want to do more than I am currently doing. I do not think my approach to crypto has created the level of influence that can make me thrive in the crypto sphere, not just hive. This has become increasingly important seeing how mainstream crypto is becoming and how important positions of influence and power have been hijacked by sensationalists. This might be considered gatekeeping, but I think does who have been building and using this technology and understand the dynamics of this space, should be leading the conversation on cryptocurrency.

My goal isn’t to become the face of cryptocurrency. However, representation is crucial to the development of cryptocurrency in my communities. It is often difficult to explain things of this nature to people who can barely see past their needs. There is a lot of benefit to working collectively and consciously. Everything that can be achieved individually can easily be 10x'ed in the right group.

So, getting upvotes for writing a decent post isn’t my cup of tea anymore. It is appreciated, but it is certainly not the way I want to continue my journey. So I am tilted more toward self-development and community building. These are the areas I think will bring about the changes I want in the long run.

Very true, staying relevant on this chain is not an easy task, you know, the way things basically may seem against you all the time. But we move anyway ...

Also, I like the fact that you portrayed the concept of self-development and not being okay with the status quo in your post. Keep up the good work, sire!!

Love this enthusiasm and vision. I tried for a while and got burnt out so I'm back to bottom feeding 🤪 but I was working a full time job too. I enjoy writing here and doing the #gardenjournal, so while my contribution is minimal, still, it's important enough. In the end my mental health had to take priority. But I definitely think stepping up is a good option if you believe in the world you want to see happen
