MY HIVEFEST EXPERIENCE
Yesterday was the last day of hivefest. It has been a thrilling 2-days engaging with fellow hivians in the virtual space (AltSpace) and listening to hive developers speak about their projects. Below are some of my highlights from the event.
VIRTUAL SPACE/ALTSPACE
So this was my second time attending hivefest on ALTSPACE. Last year wasn't so seamless. I had issues navigating the virtual world. Even @adetorrent made fun of the fact that I was roaming around like a ghost.
However, this year was sort of better. I had everything working seamlessly. I could teleport, experiencing the different rooms; people would actually hear me speak. So the entire experience was great.
ENGAGING
I Had the unique opportunity of talking to a couple of hivians like @adetorrent @soyrosa @samsmith1971 @dreemsteem @jaydr and a lot more. I even had a brief chit-chat with @blocktrades (cool stuff). This wouldn’t happen on a regular day, so I appreciate the opportunity to speak to people.
The conversation was great. Yesterday i had a long chat with @samsmith1971 and @soyrosa which kinda pulled a crowd at the end. It was just nice sharing our ideas and perspective on hive and also making new friends.
DEVELOPERS AND PROJECTS
So one of the major highlights of hivefest was that we got to hear from developers about their projects, which gives us a deeper understanding of the things they are working on.
I enjoyed @markymark's presentation on hivepunk; @bocktrades talk on hive development (including HAF); @eddiespino's hive marketing presentation and a host of others.
For me, events like this show how much development are going on in the background and it makes you appreciate hive even more. There are a lot of people putting in their time and resources to ensure that this Blockchain grows. I can't help but commend them.
In conclusion, it was a fun event. Hopefully the next Hivefest would be at a physical location. Would creatively love to attend. If you attended the event, kindly share your experience in the comment section, thank you.

My laptop is a mess, attending was impossible. However, next year I'll be there. It reminds me of the game Ready Player 1 on Netflix. I like it virtual, I just wish I could get those VR glasses before the next one and actually be in the game. I'll work towards it.

Sorry about that. I think I had similar issues last year with my laptop.
Yeah. I might invest in those VR sets. Should come in handy next year (should be on stage for the next hivefest 😏)

Sorry about your audio issue. Hopefully during the next hivefest you will have these things sorted out. You can also try out ALTSPACE occasionally to get accustomed to it. Maybe we can host a naija meet up on ALTSPACE

It was a fantastic experience and so wonderful to chat with both you and @blezyn 😍I met so many wonderful Hivers at Hivefest. It was a surreal but joyful experience to be able to chat with people, put a voice to their names, and have a laugh in the virtual space. I !LUV ed our chats Nonso ...and yeah that little crowd gathered around and caught me by surprise. It was getting so late I think the little groups around in the lobby all just finally drifted into one big group hee hee. I'll put a post up later today of my personal experiences of Hivefest. How did you get your selfies from altspace into your Hive post. I have been into my Altspace gallery on my PC and don't seem to be able to download them or copy them or anything like that? Any help appreciated🙏

aah yes please do get @blezyn to join in next time. It was such fun! And you are so right, I feel I can now "hear" quite a few of the people I connect with when I read their posts. It's really lovely😍 Oh my goodness...I know right re the gathering... felt super self- conscious after that !LOLZ ...and I finally managed to get my images out. It would not work on my PC so I used my phone in the end. that worked beautifully. Thank you.

Omo, get one as soon as you can though. There is a lot one can do on the pc that is impossible on mobile devices

Yes. You can simple download the dapp on your PC via the Microsoft appstore. Create an account and then you have access to the various virtual events. Unfortunately, hivefest has ended. But you can participate next year (if it hosted virtually)
