It is all about the MONEY!

There is no need to bullshit you. This is cryptocurrency and it is all about the money--money, numbers and charts. Your project is deemed successful based on how much money it generates for the investors or token holders.

As altruistic as I might claim to be, I judge my progress here based on the same standards. I consider my time here on hive a success because of the money I have made and the lives I have impacted (which is secondary, to be honest).

I might not be able to change my love or need for money but I understand and prioritize the things that matter the most and earning isn't the thing that matters the most. Many people have missed the mark because they were fixated on the money.

When I ask people why they left hive some years ago, they often reply by saying that they were not getting traction, which in this case means that they weren't earning enough money. I consider this funny knowing that they never made any penny from using other social platforms before hive.

The problem is most people compare themselves to other people. So earning twenty cents on a post might seem insufficient if the other person is earning twenty times more. It is perfectly human. I suffer from the same greed sometimes.

When I see someone earning more than I do for shittier work I get jealous, but then I try to remind myself that I am on a different path and should judge myself based on my standard, which in most cases I am crushing.

Also, in most cases, those earning twice as much as I am have put in more time and dedication to this platform and deserve all the support they are getting. It is just the universe's way of rewarding them for being steadfast.

If I ever want to level up, I need to commit as much as they have or even more, which is a difficult task and price to pay. Many are unwilling to do the work. It's a cultural problem, most people see the result and not the process.

So you have been putting in the time and effort but things are not clicking for you, what do you do? Wait. As simplistic as that may sound it is the best advice anyone can give you here (a piece of advice I should take myself).

If my future self could go back to my past self to give me one piece of advice, it would be to be patient. For every bag I have fumbled (and they are many) my Achille heel has been my impatience.

I have said that patience is not one of my many virtues but in the cryptosphere, it is the thing that separates the losers and the winners.

Currently, things are quite rosy in the crypto sphere. It seems like everything you touch turns to gold, even the shittest of things. That's because we are experiencing a bull run. In a year or two from now, that might change.

It is going to be the hardest time for most people and many will quit. There might be the unfortunate few who would wait only to fumble in the end. Things like this are bound to happen.

At the end of the day what matters is what you do with the information you have gathered. For me, the next bull run will be my ticket to financial freedom. Right now, I am trying to make all the right moves to sustain myself until then.

Take your eyes off the money and focus on the goal. Cheers!

The idea that posts are shitty or quality is a silly notion. No one would agree on it.

People love to pretend that it is about Quality and everyone feels robbed and like it is broken. If instead you consider it a Social Network... where relationships, connections and retaining attention over time all matter! :)

Anyway, I love how you are sticking with it and enjoying the benefits.

This is a lifelong debate and I don't know why I even bring it up myself.

People love to pretend that it is about Quality and everyone feels robbed and like it is broken. If instead you consider it a Social Network... where relationships, connections and retaining attention over time all matter!

This is what I am trying to do with the hive-naija community. Making the whole experience fun and interacting with people who care about the same things I do. Making money can be fun too

Anyway, I love how you are sticking with it and enjoying the benefits

Thank you 😌 Hope you are doing the same?

What I want out of Hive is the community of interesting and global connections in crypto, access to beginning projects like Splinterlands and Leo.

People who are in early, who understand it, who work on projects, write about them, etc. What a network experience if we are in early. :)

Hive does just that but we often take that for granted because it doesn't add to our portfolio directly. I have even immensely from the social capital on hive and for me has been my biggest win.

Mehn, I given myself the worse heart ache this way. Sometimes those closest to.me can see how bitter I get when things aren't working for me. I need the bitterness to stop sha.

These days I'm all about pushing my thoughts to words. I typically do it by 5:30 and I find a community that fits it.

I also have friends here I'm eager to hear from and not compete with. I try my best to just be happy for them but sometimes I lose focus. Its not about winning if it means winning alone and Hive recognizes that.

This your post is worth reading twice...now and whenever those thoughts show up.

Like I said jealousy is only natural but we all need to fight it or it will consume us to the point we become blind to our progress.

Great mate! Just do you and watch things change over time. Time is a huge factor here.

I also have friends here I'm eager to hear from and not compete with.

When I see people do better I believe I can do better as well. It is even more relatable when I see people in myself doing well. It is the biggest motivation for me.

I try my best to just be happy for them but sometimes I lose focus.

I found what makes me happy here and that's helping other people on their journey. It takes nothing from me and I enjoy doing it.

Its not about winning if it means winning alone and Hive recognizes that.

Things are going to be a lot different when the bear run kicks and we will realize the importance of having a strong community

Lol! I am glad this one resonates with you as well. We all go through similar struggles. This is why sharing our experiences is important, as it shows us that our problems are not particular to us and that way we can learn from each other

What a word to start my day! I'm glad I found this post because at some point, I asked myself if I was on Hive solely for the money and my answer was Yes 🤷‍♀️

But then, I don't allow it be my priority. I just try to make more engagement, connections and grow my account to my financial freedom.

Thanks for the advice, I'm being reminded of it again. I hope people see the little rewards they get here way more better than the nothing they get on other social media.

When you said patience was what separates the winners from the losers, I found myself unconsciously nodding in approval.

The sad thing is that I also know this, but I always find it hard to wait.. I have many flaws and impatience might be at the top of that list.

You are not alone on this one. I have been impatient as well. The truth is we cannot keep making the same mistakes and expecting a different result. This is why we need to correct the mistakes of the past by making the right decisions today. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comment

Yes, yes, yes!!
Money makes the world go round and as greedy as that may sound that's the truth.
Every body wants to get the bag but, the question is 'are they willing to make sacrifices to get it??'.

When I see someone earning more than I do for shittier work I get jealous, but then I try to remind myself that I am on a different path and should judge myself based on my standard, which in most cases I am crushing.

No lies I've also felt the same way, when I see people getting curated more for a post I believe to be less, i get jealous. But then it's Right to be jealous if you'll use that as a driving force to work more to achieving way more than you're doing now. It's a process. A gradual process of more work and consistency.

If my future self could go back to my past self to give me one piece of advice, it would be to be patient. For every bag I have fumbled (and they are many) my Achille heel has been my impatience.

The patient dog eats the fattest bone. It's actually easier said than done. Most times I've missed a lot of ópportunities because of lack of patience. I'll be like "meh, this thing no get head abeg, I can't continue doing it again". Then I give up, and end up gaining nothing in the long run.
I've learnt from my mistakes, patience is the virtue I'm imbibing now.

Thanks for sharing, I think a lot of other authors need to read this! ❤️

This is why the entry is sweet right now. Newbies enjoying rewards we didn't see early on. It's nice, I pray for consistency but I think it would be nice to bring a little reality back. It's not always like this and it can always get better or a whole lot worse.

Who's going to be here when shit hits the fan? I know that's the best time to give out 2000% energy.

Nice post Digital Nomad.

Majorly I like to focus more on personal growth than the money attached to it. If I'm able to connect and interact with more people, that in itself is a lot of gain.

When I see someone earning more than I do for shittier work I get jealous.

Honestly I won't lie to you, I fall victim of this but I try my best to take my mind off it, and then focus on other benefit I again from Hive, consuming quality knowledge on some certain topics, which gives me joy now. And helps me control my greed and take my eyes off just the money.
