# First win & new cards! - Splinter Stats Season 57 Report Card
As a token of gratitude to @kiokizz work on this wonderful reporting script, I shifted my rewards slider to 50/50, so he'll now get half of the rewards of this report. I hope Splinterlands can update their API in due time again, so that these reports regain some detail :).
I missed the Top 50 ranked this time, but scored my first Tournament win ever and saw some great cards coming out of the woodwork!
|Rating||4539 - Champion II|
|Ratio (Win/Loss)||1.13 (214/189)|
|Tournament Ratio (Win/Loss+Draw)||1.09 (261/238/1)|
|Tournament Reward Placements||8/14|
My win ratio has dropped considerably in recent seasons, as new elite players are emerging, and the metagame is hugely changing. I've seen myself go belly up against unexpected Ranged and even Melee decks, and in general the influx of players has made the game much less predictable for me.
Overall, I think this is a good thing, but for me personally it does mean that my Top 50 days may be over. However, I at least came somewhat close to it this time around, with a finish at spot #56 :).

This is the first time that I rented cards to boost my Gold Foil tournament deck, and it paid out well: I had a number of good finishes in the tournaments that really mattered, while performing much more poorly in the Regular Foil tournaments.
In fact, I am now struggling to break even in the League of Champions and Diamonds to the Victor SPS-based tournaments, so I may just need to wave goodbye to those for the time being...
Btw. I guess the SPS tournaments still need to be added here? :)

There were very few cards this time around, but I did get two Golden Commons and next season will surely be much better when the new cards arrive!!
I spent about 20k DEC on rentrals, but with prize pots in the range of 2000+ SPS this was a price worth paying.
Unfortunately, renting high level cards now has become much harder, so I'm not sure I can keep up with the good tournaments next time around...
I've been staking a good deal more SPS than previously, in anticipation of Chaos Legion, but also because I want to remain eligible for the Gold Foil tournaments in the long term. :)
Overall it was a tough season with a few good highlights!
As for the Reward Cards, so far I like them: I like it that they are cheaper, and that they seem to be very competitive at max level. For instance, the Blue Sneak card Pelacor Bandit is actually a bit better than Sabre Shark at maximum level (they're identical but the former has flying). However, if you play more at Gold or Silver level you may find that the older Beta cards are frequently a bit stronger there.
As for the new abilities, those take time to appraise. I think the Forcefield and Camouflage one could be game changers, and look forward to toying around with Amplify as well! I wouldn't mind a new ruleset that disables True Strike though.... ;).
Oh, and one last thing: perhaps the most interesting reward isn't here yet actually: I pulled a Golden Epic from one of my Gladius Brawl cases! :)
Thanks so much for checking out my report, and good luck with your Splinterlands gaming run in this new and completely different type of season!
