Rosario's family was known as the poorest of the poor family in a small town known for the poor.
Rosario lost his parents at an old age. Rosario was the first child and son of his family, he had four other junior siblings named Romano, Clyde, Pandora and Jeff.
After their parents death Rosario had to fend for his siblings and raise them. Rosario was only thirteen years old when he began some labour work after the death of his parents , like working in a construction site, carrying load in the market, helping sellers with the arrangement of their stocks to fend for his siblings. He has to work from morning to night so his siblings can eat well and be educated.
He sacrificed his education for his siblings so they can be educated. He made sure they never lacked anything and took care of them like how a parent should.
Romano, who was the second child, began to perform excellently in his academics and was awarded a scholarship to any secondary school and university of his choice. He was so glad Rosario and his other siblings were proud of him .
Romano had to go to the city to complete his education. Luckily for their family, Jeff the last child got a scholarship because he was outspoken at a very tender age. He was awarded a scholarship by a generous businessman who promised to make him educated since he has not started schooling, he will take him to the best private school in the city.
Rosario was very scared of this offer but Jeff really want it ,so he pleaded with the man to take good and proper care of his brother and keep updating him about his well-being
Rosario missed his two junior brothers who had gone to the city, he was only left with his sister and junior brother. He and Clyde had to work hard for themselves and their junior sister Pandora.
After many years ,Romano visited them and they were glad to see their brother after so many years. Romano was now a big man, Rosario ran to hug his brother. Romano told them he was done with studies and had gotten a job although it's not well paid but it can be managed. He asked Pandora about her studies and she told him she's in SS2 while Clyde was awaiting an admission to the university but he needed money for the processing. Luckily for him Romano brought some cash with him then he handed it over to him and asked him if it will be enough ,Clyde answered "it will be more than enough". He gave some money to Rosario and Pandora and they were very glad.
Romano asked Rosario about Jeff if they still hear from him and Rosario answered "yes", but they became sad as Rosario told Romano he isn't returning to their wretched house and they shouldn't visit him. Romano was surprised and angry.
Rosario then added ,"I don't think he was in a good mood,I will visit him tomorrow to be sure he meant it". Romano agreed and bid them farewell because he is resuming work the next day. Very early in the morning , Rosario set out for the city with the help of the address given to him by the business man . He finally located the place and went in because the doors were widely opened like they were having a party or a celebration.
Jeff saw his brother Rosario running to hug him; he immediately ordered the guard to hold him and throw him out. He felt disgraced and told his friends he was the beggar he saw the other time he was when he was returning.
Rosario felt disgraced and ashamed but begged Jeff to allow him to stay with him for tonight cos he was new in the city and couldn't return home now buh he was thrown out like a piece of rag . Rosario roamed around the street searching for where to pass the night but unfortunately he was attacked by robbers , he was beaten to stupor and all his goods and little money for his journey back home was collected from him .
He was dumped in the garage and was left to die there in his pool of blood. No one offered to give a helping hand when they saw me. They all ran away or crossed to the other side like I was a plague.
All you could think of was Jeff, his now a multi- millionaire buh chose to neglect his family after all we've done for him. I kept wondering how he got so rich at a very young age , he's now smoking and drinking and he wasn't like that before.
"I cried till morning and I felt death hovering around me."
Romanio came to the garage to catch his bus to his place of work buh felt the urge to pee so he told the driver to hold on for him as he got to the place he wanted to pee , he couldn't believe his eyes his own brother Rosario lying in his pool of blood half dead he called for help instantly and was rushed to the hospital.
Immediate treatments were carried out on him but not fully cos he needed to pay to continue the treatment, Romanio emptied all his savings and account but were not enough so he decided to go meet Jeff for help .
He searched Rosario's pocket and found the address to Jeff's house and went to beg Jeff for help buh was thrown out like a rag also by Jeff. Romanio now understood everything and became very furious buh had no choice other than to get a loan for his brother's treatment because there was no time left .
Rosario survived and was determined to be educated and successful so he won't be humiliated anymore. After some months of recovery he started working in a canteen. Because of his generous, humble, hardworking and diligent behaviour he was very close to customers and his boss but he decided to learn how to speak English and write so he would be able to communicate fluently with the customers and boss .
He asked his siblings to teach him ,they taught him and because he was a fast learner he was quick to grab them .
A new five star restaurant has been opened and the CEO asked his friends to help him get workers. The Rosario boss was a close friend to the CEO so it was easy for him to register Rosario.
He got the job and performed well and was favoured by the CEO and was promoted to the manager seat. He was so happy but was not happy his boss noticed his unhappy face and asked him , he told him he wanted to be educated so he can start up a company of his own .
His boss loved the idea and promised to sponsor him throughout and after some years Rosario passed out with flying colours the CEO was so proud of him .
He told Rosario you need to have an experience in a company before you can start your own company. With my connection I'll help you but promising to be who you are. Then I promise to be the best after 4 years of experience. I had a company of mine and started a new successful life .
My family was now known as the elite family, no longer the poorest of the poor family. We moved them to the city and lived happily together and we prospered in our different ways. Pandora became a doctor in a private hospital, Clyde became an artist and we were successful in our endeavours .
It was later announced on the social media that the multi- millionaire named Jeff has been arrested for smuggling of hard drugs and involved in some criminal act like fraud and was sentenced to 45 years imprisonment with hard labour .
I went to visit him in the prison and was surprised to see me and ashamed at same time but had no choice than to plead for forgiveness and told me he was so foolish to be hungry for power and wealth at a young age because he was envious of the man family that helped him he wanted to be better than them but wasn't ready to work hard so he cut corners and ended up here in jail , He said weeping.
He begged for forgiveness for the way he acted and I told him to be of good behaviour he might find favour and be released for good behaviour.
He cried so bitterly I couldn't control my tears. Also, you cried with him saying one should never be hungry for power or wealth. It has a negative ending.
