Insurance companies usually count their profits in the billions... long term care facilities aren't suffering because of reduced premiums, they're suffering because insurance companies are choosing to pay them less. That is the reality, and it's sad, but paying higher premiums won't fix it.

It's interesting you mention that. I don't disagree with you, but it would seem the general public does. Most of the public and people I know who work in the healthcare industry are blaming the politics and politicians behind it and not the insurance companies. I guess with lobbies and kickbacks it is hard to tell where one ends and the other begins when you are talking about politics and insurance.
