2022 Homecoming: Morning Routine With My Grandchildren

I had precious or expensive gift for my grandchildren. What I wanted is the food and necessities they need that I am always looking forward. I treasured every moment bonding all the time with the simplest way of living.

One of their favorite routine in the morning, when they heard the sound of the taho vendor outside out door. They ran and asked their mother 20pesos for two bigger cups of tho.

These were the look of taho. I remember before, there was no taho vendor in Panabo. I only heard about yahoo in MAINLAND before I went abroad. I don't know the taste of this food. Until now I never try it and only bought some for my grandchildren.

I am so grateful that the man who became their friend and suki was a young man and I found it that he was taking care with his valued customers. His stuff for selling the taho was made up of stainless and had a very clean and neat look. He used clean cloth in wiping the tubes and applied precautions.

He also had a recorded voice shouting for calling a customers as a sign that he is already coming along the compound. I liked and enjoyed the 10 o'clock morning routine of the taho vendor and my grandchildren. It was their snack before eating lunch at noontime. All neighbors and friends the same age, came and sometimes I paid for them too.

What is taho food?

The English word "taho" can be translated as the following word in Tagalog: 1.) tahô - [noun] a sweet snack made with soft tofu, sago/tapioca pearls, and a caramelized sugar syrup.

Taho is the Filipino version of soybean pudding, which has been around for millennia. The word taho is derived from the Chinese word for the soft soybean pudding douhua. Taho originated in China in the time of the Han Dynasty (206 to 220)

Never heard of Taho before but when I know it's made of tofu, totally I would be all about it I'm sure! Glad your grandchildren were happy with the treat!

Tofu is pronounced "tav-huu" in Khmer, a similar sounding name. I've seen this snack in Thailand and Cambodia, but usually only early in the morning in larger urban areas. Here it's vegan, made with palm sugar hot water, ginger, and a generous helping silky soft tofu. Usually it's so sweet that it hurts my teeth, but I've had a few that were perfectly sweetened.
