Twitter Ban Lifted In Nigeria, Is Cryptocurrency Ban Going To Be Next?
Twitter is one of the most important platforms to get reliable and updated Crypto news, in fact, any news in general, it was like a punch to the guts for Nigerian crypto community and traders when it was banned by my country Nigeria, seven months ago after the social media platform, "Twitter" deleted the tweets or comments made by the President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.
Although The ban of the social media platform Twitter did not stop Nigerians, the Nigerian Crypto community, Traders, and Also Hivers from using Twitter within the seven months ban.
We could access Twitter like everyone in the world, through the use of VPNs to mask our location to bypass the ban policy and get important information on Cryptocurrency and other things, but it also had some downside, because using VPN to open your Crypto Exchange Wallets like BINANCE, could lead to your account being Ban or Suspended based on the fact that your location will be bouncing off different IP addresses, which is suspicious and make it look like your account was hacked.
I personally made the mistake of accessing my crypto wallets while my VPN was still on after using Twitter or while I'm using Twitter to go read and get updates on the crypto world, once I realize that my VPN is on, I immediately close my crypto apps and also put off the VPN to avoid any problems, somethings I go as far as restarting my phone, "I DON'T JOKE WITH MY CRYPTO WALLETS".
At midnight today, the Twitter ban was lifted according to this news report by Channels,
“The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) directs me to inform the public that President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the lifting of the suspension of Twitter operation in Nigeria effective from 12am tonight, 13th January 2022. The approval was given following a memo written to the President by the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim,” the statement added.
“In the Memo, the Minister updates and requests the President’s approval for the lifting based on the Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement’s recommendation.”
Now, the Twitter ban lifted leads me and so many other crypto traders out there to ask the question, Is the Cryptocurrency ban in Nigeria going to be Lifted too?. Although the Twitter ban wasn't because of Crypto, I just feel that if the Twitter ban can be lifted then the Crypto ban can also be lifted.

I had my account logged out number of times due to this mistake, sometimes I won't even enter binance but when I do my account has been automatically logged out.
It even got to an extend that my phone's IP address got flagged and the only way out is to use VPN to login but using Nigeria as my location. That way I get to change my IP address.
I think being able to use Twitter freely will at least reduce the data usage consumed by VPN, so it's a good news for everyone

Lifting ban on crypto will be the biggest new year gift for Nigerians but I don't see that happening anytime soon
It's surely going to be the biggest year gift for Nigerians because almost all the youths in Nigeria are into crypto in one way or the other.

On this I agree with, we are creating jobs for ourselves, than withing on the Government that doesn't care about us.
About Crypto ban, i don't know mehn, there's alot of politics and selfish interest surrounding that.
