Good day community

Seafaring versions on a port walk through the Galician town of Cangas located on the Vigo estuary in Spain. Airs from the Atlantic mix in the air with saltpeter, salty flavor, beef, pots for seafood and anchors. Observing the thousand details of a port is something that fascinates me and whether in marinas, commercial or fishing ports like this case, it is always full of exciting and different images and shots in terms of people who usually live inland, far from the sea.

I have many of my best childhood and youth memories in this beautiful setting that is the Morrazo peninsula, located between the Vigo and Pontevedra estuaries in Galicia. When I was a child this town was beginning to develop because already then there was one of the largest canning factories and a whaling factory called Massó. Likewise, it was evolving in terms of its form since the proximity of the city of Vigo and the economic and social changes of that time were evolving rapidly. At this time there was still little tourism in this area and its coast was quite wild, today it still retains a lot of that charm from then but things have changed a lot.

In this beautiful place I learned many things, both in my childhood and in my youth. Being a coastal area the teachings were different from what I was used to living inland. Swimming, fishing, sailing in different boats, are some of the many things that I acquired living in this place. At the time we also went to collect shellfish, we went to the rocky and sandy areas for crabs, snails, to fish for shrimp or to collect barnacles. I learned how the tides and the moon are closely linked and this helped me understand some issues regarding this satellite of ours and its influence on all the liquids on our planet. I was also going to play the whaleboat then in operation, it was quite a strong experience, a strange mix between death, strong and unpleasant odors and a childlike attraction and curiosity towards what was taking place there.

Old gadgets, huge steel plates, gates for nets, harpoons and gunboats and the large number of people who worked in this factory was something impressive. As a boy those things were and made me very attractive, like a great adventure. Seeing then those ships that were still smoking through the entrance sleeve of the estuary was another of my hobbies. I went to the tip of the cape to see them enter, to see how they did their maneuvers and to discover many types of large and small boats of all kinds. I also really liked walking among the rocks, going from one sandy beach to another to discover small deserted and wild beaches, this was a great adventure for me. He jumped like a spider between those enormous rocks looking for the passage between one beach and another. Many times I found remains that seemed to me to be treasures dragged by the currents and the sea towards the beach.

@oscarps Llegar a buen puerto.
