Good day community

Sitting in the chair on the terrace, I can see the main square of the city of Cáceres, in Spain. I watch the passers-by and tourists who come and go and one of the main reasons why they visit my city is its great buildings, castles and monuments that are part of this heritage town. Cradle of many stories, declared a world heritage city, it is a jewel in terms of visitable areas, museums, temples and a mixture of remote times that cohabit with the current city.

On the fly I reach the top of one of the medieval towers that watch over the old walled enclosure of the historic city. I stand on one of the battlements and see a spectacular urban landscape in all directions of the beautiful provincial capital. Depending on whether I look north or south, the city changes in a complex way, since the vision that one reaches perched up here gives rise to different points of view. The fusion between the different parts of the city, both the old and the current capital, is evident in the south towards where the new city of Cáceres widens and grows. Scanning the horizon you can see hundreds of kilometers that unfold as far as the eye can see.

At the top I can imagine how they lived and felt in the remote times in which this entire complex was built, as they built it hundreds of years ago, it was already from Roman times, then Arabs and Christians remodeling the old part, its battlements, castles, walls, palaces and mosques later Christian churches. Being a dove from up here I have the feeling of being able to relive all those parts in me, listening to the noise of the hooves of the horses, of the ancient swords and sabers and of a historical tour of the heritage of all humanity. I feel free to be a mere observer of all these realities drawing my own conclusions without going to the right or to the left. History is repetitive and has often been manipulated by societies that have turned it at will.

The tour of the wall is not lost, it bypasses part of the city and in many sections it is inaccessible, the destruction of man's unreason, the desire for land, the use of materials, the looting have been constant throughout the times. Although many pieces and parts have been recovered and saved, many others have disappeared forever and only old fragments, sketches or drawings remain of how the city of Cáceres was complete in ancient times. Its location is also an important point to note throughout this story that I am telling you. This is one of the main transit areas for access to other parts of the country and neighboring Portugal.
