Good day community

For several days since this weekend in November in the city of Cáceres, the famous medieval market of the city is taking place, as every year. The town is dressed and decorated with a banner that accompanies the people who walk through the streets between its walls, towers, battlements and palaces. Many merchants of crafts, regional products and food come together in this special festival that is well known and popular in my country, Spain. Taking advantage of the culture and ancient history of the city, this event takes place every year, decorated under the guise of a remote historical era, the Middle Ages in Europe.

In this series of first images about this event I wanted to bring you the most significant culinary aspect that occurs. As an ancient way of cooking, roasts and complete pieces are prepared in the stalls located in the highest area of ​​the city, a place of palaces and the cathedral. The well-designed, modern but old-looking stalls where you can sit and eat these exquisite dishes are in this area of ​​the old town. The smells, smoke, flavors and varieties are very numerous and are not only limited to meat but also rice, vegetables and many, many sweets from this specific area.

It is great entertainment to see how these chefs, masters of roasts, prepare these meats over low heat, with the right coals and heat to make these exquisite roasts. When I took these photographs this morning I stayed for a long time observing their movements and how they developed and prepared. I also love chatting for a while with all these people who share and work on these occasions, it is something that is implicit in my work of documenting and collecting images. Greetings friends.

@oscarps Mercado Medieval Cáceres Noviembre 2022-11-19

Durante varios días desde en este fin de semana de Noviembre en la ciudad de Cáceres se está desarrollando, como todos los años, el famoso mercado medieval de la ciudad. La villa se viste y engalana con estandarte que acompaña a la gente que caminan por las calles entre sus murallas, torres, almenas y palacios. Muchísimos comerciantes de artesanía, de productos regionales y de comidas se reúnen en esta especial fiesta que es muy conocida y popular en mi país, España. Aprovechando la cultura e historia milenaria de la ciudad se desarrolla todos los años este acontecimiento adornado bajo apariencia de una época historia remota, la época del Medievo en Europa.

En esta serie de primeras imágenes sobre este acontecimiento he querido traeros el aspecto culinario más significativo que se produce. A modo de antigua manera de cocinar los asados y piezas completas son preparados en los puestos situados en la zona más alta de la ciudad, lugar de palacios y de la catedral. Los puestos bien diseñados, modernos pero con aspecto antiguo donde sentarse y comer estos exquisitos platos están por esta zona de el casco antiguo. Los olores, el humo, sabores y variedades son muy numerosos y no solamente se limitan a carnes sino que se puede consumir arroces, verduras y muchos, muchos dulces de esta zona específica.
Es un gran entretenimiento viendo como estos cocineros, maestros de los asados preparan esas carnes a fuego lento, con las brasas y el calor adecuado para hacer estos exquisitos asados. Cuando he realizado estas fotografías esta mañana me he quedado un muy buen rato observando sus movimientos y como desarrollaban y preparaban. Me encanta también charlar un rato con todas estas personas que compartes y trabajan en estas ocasiones, es algo que está implícito en mi trabajo de documentar y recoger imágenes. Un saludo amigos.
