Saludos, amigos de Hive y de Aliento! Para ir directo al grano, debo reiterar que escribir bien las palabras, con los signos de puntuación correctamente utilizados, con buena acentuación y otros aspectos relativos a la ortografía, es una de las cosas más atractivas que existen en cualquier publicación y, sobre todo, si está escrita en español. Es bueno señalar que nuestro idioma tiene una serie de particularidades que lo convierten en muy dependiente de estas reglas cuando se trata de escribirlo. Veamos algunas cosas.

Es imposible pensar en una lectura atractiva si nuestro post no cuenta, por ejemplo, con signos de puntuación. Los signos de puntuación otorgan sentido lógico al texto, amén que indican las pausas que el escritor otorga a sus palabras, lo que es sumamente importante para administrar el ritmo de las cosas que escribimos. Para utilizar un ejemplo concreto, si la primera oración de este párrafo no tuviera comas, el énfasis que yo quiero darle a la expresión "signos de puntuación" no sería el mismo. Fíjense que se trata de dar contundencia a la idea central del post, que es la relativa a la ortografía, incluyendo los signos de puntuación, de allí que cada coma o punto define una intención muy concreta para quien escribe y para el lector que, a fin de cuentas, es nuestro público objetivo.

Muchas veces nos preguntamos cuándo o dónde colocar un "punto y seguido". Aquí está este ejemplo para que puedan graficarlo: si leen desde el principio, se darán cuenta que cada oración escrita hasta el punto, representa una idea mía que puede ser leída por separado, pero que enlazada con las ideas siguientes conforman un conjunto armónico que luego dará forma conceptual al párrafo hasta que la idea "se agote" y dé paso a un nuevo párrafo. Si les dejo una recomendación: eviten utilizar en exceso esta herramienta. Cómo saberlo? Lea en voz alta o repase mentalmente con cuidado antes de cerrar. Eso le dará el ritmo que usted busca y le alertará sobre las modificaciones necesarias.

Como vemos, escribir bien es un ejercicio intelectual de mucha importancia. Por lo regular, quien escribe bien, lee bien, por lo que otra recomendación que quiero dejarles en esta segunda publicación de esta serie, es que no dejen de leer buenos textos (en todos los géneros los hay). To get straight to the point, I must reiterate that writing words well, with punctuation marks correctly used, with good accentuation and other aspects related to spelling, is one of the most attractive things that exist in any publication and, above all, if it is written in Spanish. It is good to point out that our language has a series of particularities that make it very dependent on these rules when it comes to writing it. Let's take a look at a few things.

It is impossible to think of an attractive reading if our post does not have, for example, punctuation marks. Punctuation marks give logical sense to the text, as well as indicate the pauses that the writer gives to his words, which is extremely important to manage the rhythm of the things we write. To use a concrete example, if the first sentence of this paragraph did not have commas, the emphasis I want to give to the expression "punctuation marks" would not be the same. Notice that it is about giving forcefulness to the central idea of the post, which is related to spelling, including punctuation marks, hence each comma or period defines a very specific intention for the writer and for the reader who, after all, is our target audience.

We often wonder when or where to place a "semicolon". Here is this example so that you can illustrate it: if you read from the beginning, you will realize that each sentence written up to the period represents an idea of mine that can be read separately, but linked with the following ideas, it forms a harmonic whole that will then give conceptual shape to the paragraph until the idea "runs out" and gives way to a new paragraph. If I leave you a recommendation: avoid overusing this tool. How do you know? Read aloud or mentally review carefully before closing. That will give you the rhythm you are looking for and alert you to necessary modifications.

As we can see, writing well is a very important intellectual exercise. Usually, those who write well, read well, so another recommendation I would like to leave you with in this second publication of this series is that you should not stop reading good texts (there are good texts in all genres).
