New Advertising Payout for SportsTalkSocial.com

We just had another payment to the new bitcoin address for @sports-gov on Hive-Engine!

On September 11th, a-ads paid out 0.00100070 BTC to @sports-gov's swap.btc address. With this and our previous payouts we now have 0.01615126 BTC available for SPORTS projects through our SPORTS proposal system. These funds are available now for anyone to make a proposal against.

I'd like to take this moment to thank everyone who's already adopted using our site for viewing sports content on Hive. Each eyeball helps bring value back into the tribe to complete new projects in the future!

isn’t that value basically the entire sell side of the of the sports orderbook? I just found that interesting

Not that I think that money should be used to just buy and burn that could be done with hive earned

Perhaps the funds could be used for liquidity pools and market making! Having SPORTS with more pairs and pulling in more of the supply into pools could help

Happy that someone has their brain switched on and I think something should happen definitely.

I think the burn model is a fallacy you're always swimming against the tide, especially with SPORTS inflation. A better option would be to take BTC and as you build a treasury peg/back your SPORTS to BTC at a certain rate.

As the attention on SPORTS brings in more revenue and the treasury grows you can start to take that portion of the treasury and redeem it at a certain rate and amount, this gives the issuer more control of keeping the value of the token steady

Part backing and part Liquidity pool as far as I can see is the better model as Liquidity pools mean easier access in and out of the token

I agree that some of it should be used to buy some SPORTS but I think there were also ideas of using it to fund some giveaways and attract new users. I do think a portion of it should be used to burn some tokens.

Indeed when you pair the coin with more coins let's say HIVE, BTC, HBD you allow that volatility easier flows into the coin

Thanks, I still think far more needs to be done to properly leverage the attention the site is getting, A-ads is only 1 revenue stream having more ad networks can help make CPCs and CPA's more competitive on the site

I just mentioned the idea of adding to our liquidity pool to @ykretz.sports yesterday. I think that would help incentivize even more liquidity for the swap.btc rewards.

I think using it in an actual pool is also a really cool concept. That could also be used to have a more sustainable burn since the rewards that are earned could then be burnt themselves instead of just doing a straight buy/burn.

Any ideas where the funds will be used? I am guessing we will sit on it for now but I am guessing we need a proposal before figuring out where these funds should be allocated.

I'm completely open to how they will get used. It will just come down to whatever proposal(s) that get put forward get to the 51% mark.

I think @chekohler has some great thoughts about their usage in LP. I was thinking of proposing using them as more liquidity rewards for the swap.hive pool itself but adding a second diesel pool with swap.btc and then having @sports-gov add liquidity against swap.btc/SPORTS would be an interesting use as well.

Sounds like a proper model, you won't need to do buy backs and burns then, if you have a HIVE/SPORTS and BTC/SPORTS pool that rewards users then you can simply use the revenue from ads to keep encouraging a bigger pool

The bigger the pool, the more tokens are pulled off your order book, the more tokens pulled off the order book and paired with other tokens, the bigger amount of buys and sells can be executed with less slippage

In theory it should also improve the price with less tokens hitting the market,

What's going to be tougher, though not a hard call right now, is the decision on LP rewards for new pools. Do we split the 1M/year of SPORTS for swap.hive LP between Hive/BTC pools, add additional inflation pools for BTC or take from other areas like content rewards. Right now our inflation looks like, in approximate terms:

8M - Content (4M author / 4M curation)
1M - LP Rewards (swap.hive)

I was originally planning to do 1M for the DAO but after finding the DAO could take on the role of @sportsprojects I think it will have plenty of funds available to it for us to issue on an as needed/desired basis. Any approved projects will still essentially be new coins on the market since they've been locked up before but it won't be coming from newly issued coins.

I've not been in the portal for tribes yet but I imagine a lot of these contracts will be configurable on the fly for future changes. I'm sure there's going to be continuous new features for tribes to take advantage of and tribes will want to be able to adjust as needed. I'd like for us to stay right at that 1B/year area myself but as always will defer any changes to the proposal system.
