Biosecurity is the precautions that you have put in place in other to prevent any transferable diseases or viruses that can affect your broiler birds or chickens in your poultry farm. As a farmer, there are some precautions that even you yourself that you need to put in place, that you yourself must follow. A lot of human activities going on in your environment can stand a chance of affecting your livestock for example maybe like bush burning, dumping of refuse in the environment that can attract some wild animals near your pen. You can have some wild animals like snakes,cat,dog and maybe even pest. When these animals couldn't what to feed where refuse are being dump, the next thing for them is to be looking for their next bus-stop;they will looking be looking for what to feed on in the environment.

SOME OF THE BIOSECURITY A POULTRY FARMER NEEDS TO PUT IN PLACE.

Talking about biosecurity of poultry farm, alot things are attached to it. One needs to keep some rules and regulations to keep the birds safe. These are.....

• Don't allow unnecessary bush burning:- Bush burning shouldn't be allow near your poultry farm. The reason for this smoke could affect the growth of the birds,cause unnecessary panic attack and this can rise their temperature,hence might leads to high mortality rate.

• Make sure the surrounding are clean:-. Another thing is making sure that the surrounding of the poultry farm are clean,there shouldn't be unnecessary dumping of refuse close to the pen so that wild animals won't use it as a place to hide.

• Make sure there is no hole that these animals will use as access to get into the pen.

• Cleaning the pen as possible as you can. General cleaning by packing the pen dirty litter materials,cleaning and sanitizing the feeders and drinks properly from time to time.

• Always enter into the pen with only one footwears that is specifically meant for only the poultry pen. If at all you have a friend around who wanted to check the birds, you order him or her to go into pen with the footwears meant for the pen alone. This will curb unnecessary transfer of diseases,germs and viruses that could affect the broiler birds.
