HBD in Savings Helps You, But Hive in HivePower Helps EVERYONE! .:. April 1st HivePUD

If you are on HIVE and you regularly check different communities, you can find endless topics for your future posts... There are always good discussions about different topics... I know that we are maybe living in a bubble communicating with each other on this platform, but I have a feeling that every single moment spent here is well "invested"... Why is it different to engage on HIVE than on Facebook, for example?

For example, the basic concept/premise of Facebook is to make revenue for the company itself and advertisers on the platform... The same concept is present in every mainstream media... They CREATE news to be more popular to extract more money from advertisers, not for helping you or to keep you informed... I know it sounds weird... But, let me know, how much value do you receive by watching some reality show with a bunch of people on a tropical island?

Maybe it's just inside my head, or because of the "bubble communities" where I like to read posts or comment on HIVE, but engaging with others here is always directed toward "community success"! We are working on the same goal, and the whole blockchain is created in that way, that you can succeed ONLY if your fellow Hivian succeeds too! Because of that, I found (certain) discussions on HIVE much more important than watching a guy on a TV telling you how to live your life... What the heck he knows about my life? On the other side, my fellow Havian knows, and he knows if I need someone to motivate me, to show me the way...

This blockchain is architecturally awesome... We have these two "currencies" on 1 blockchain which can be hard to understand how they work, even for "older" Hivers... And to be honest, I have spent significant time in the last few days trying to grasp everything... It is transparent and everyone can do it... I will not explain to you how HBD works compared to HIVE, which one is better, what are pros and cons, whether is there a need for 2 currencies, etc...

After spending time understanding how all that works, I came to one simple conclusion that everyone can acknowledge...

Having HBD in your savings helps you, but having Hive in HivePower helps EVERYONE!

In my last #HivePUD post, I shared my concerns about getting the Hive PUM (Power UP Month) badge for March, but I did it again! For the third time in a row which is something that I didn't expect... I don't create posts every day, so I was doing small power-ups every single day during the past month... If you want to create some routines, maybe you should try it too... 😀 To get this badge, you should power up at least 1 HIVE every day of the month...

Just a short introduction to HivePUD... What does it mean at all? #HivePUD is shortened for the Hive Power Up Day. It's an event when Hive members power up their liquid HIVE and stop any active PowerDown! It is organized by great fellow Hivians @streetstyle and @traciyork and is held every 1st day of a month.

You're absolutely right. HBD helps one, but having hive helps a person help other people. I advise people to dream big with hive, but own HBD to protect themselves from volatility especially if they have immediate plans that needs stable currency to handle. It's great to see that your HP goals are coming good.

The same thinking here... With HBD you will protect yourself, but with HODLing some "real" crypto you can make life-changing improvements and not just to yourself, but to others too!

That's true, this one with Hive and HBD. I usually convert half of the liquid HBD to Hive and then Power Up, and save the other half in HBD saves. But these are 10x smaller amounts than yours. 😎

That's great as you are adding additional Hive to your stake... ;) I'm doing something similar by converting some layer-2 tokens into HIVE and powering up...

I see that you are relatively new to HIVE and it is hard to understand even for "old" Hivers... But, in the nutshell, it is important that it works and you got the most important part!

With these Hive prices, the smartest thing to do is to be 100% HP, but virtue is in balance.

You are probably right about the timing... It would be dumb to change HIVE at this price and convert to HBD, but I have powered up HIVE even when it was much higher, so my opinion is irrelevant... 😂

Happy HPUD and nice powerup. I agree that having HBD and HP both help. I like to keep both of them and it's the best thing to build both of them here on Hive.

It's good to have a healthy balance in my opinion. Yes having powered up Hive is great and helps with all the things that Hive Power is good for, but at the same time, if you are putting all your eggs in one basket, what happens when you need funds in an emergency and it takes 13 weeks to power down? That is where having the HBD savings is nice because it is only 3 days to get out if you need it.

I am all about community, I mean I have built multiple projects that basically were all for the community and not for my own personal gain, trust me, lol, but we do need to look out for ourselves too... Just saying...

We are happy to have them both! And you are right that it is about the right balance which is different for every one of us... I also have some HBD in savings in my other account for the exact reason that you said... When HIVE is low, it would be dumb to sell them cheap, and having some HBD for "emergency" cases is the right way to do it...

I like to emphasize that the most important thing is to have a CHOICE... And with cryptocurrencies, we have a choice to "escape" from the rotten traditional financial system... And with having HBD and HIVE on the same chain, we have an additional choice inside our "home" blockchain! It can't be better than that! 😃

That's another reason to want to power up HIVE. And it's a community-driven action we rarely see elsewhere when it comes to profit. Seems like the name Hive suits us well.

The most important to know is that by having more HivePower, you help more with your upvotes to others, but also earn more curation rewards for yourself... So, it's a double win! There are many other "effect" that comes with that, but that one is most important!
