Love at First Click .:. My Hive Story

avatar

In less than a month, I will celebrate 3 years on HIVE (with my first account) and it was a great journey that I have really enjoyed (and still enjoy :) )... I have met so many great people here that helped me a lot in my growth, and I hope that I have helped them in some way, too... That's the point, isn't it?

One of them is definitely @nathanmars who "forced" me to step out in front of the camera in the real-time interview that he did on Twitter... Checking my feed I saw that he did his My Hive Story post and I have decided to do my response on that amazing initiative...

If I understood it well, this whole movement has started by @snook and @shadowspub... I'm so happy that we meet again as I had a great time when I came to this blockchain by taking part in PYTP "sessions" on Discord... It helped me a lot in my growth and I'm grateful that I was there to meet some awesome people!

If you would like to take part in this awesome initiative, check out the initial post by @snook which you can find here...

So, let's dive into question answering...

1. How long have you been on the Blockchain?

As I said in my first paragraph, I have created my first account (@cryptofiloz) in January 2019... After some time, I didn't like that username, so I have opened this account in April 2019... So, I'm celebrating two birthdays on HIVE... :)

2. What was your background in Cryptocurrency when you first came to the blockchain?

I have bought my first Bitcoin in 2013, but unfortunately, I have sold it just a couple of months after purchase... After that, I made a long break until early 2017 when I started with ETH mining... As I liked the bull run, I have decided to dive deeper and I went to a couple of conferences about BLOCKCHAIN technology in general, cryptography, and cryptocurrencies...

3. What was your background in writing when you first came to the blockchain?

I had dozens of websites before, but, as I was uncomfortable writing in English (not my native language) I was paying others to create content for my blogs... But, if we speak about writing in ANY language, I was doing some newspaper articles in my native language... When I came to the blockchain, I was writing short news about crypto and doing Splinterlands giveaways...

4. How many people did you know when you first came to the Blockchain?

Nobody... I had no friends here as nobody around me didn't even know about cryptocurrencies...

5. How did you meet people when you first came to the Blockchain?

Huh... I can't remember how it happened, but I suppose that it was through the comment section and engaging with others... After that, I have begun to use Discord and then I have strengthened those connections even more...

6. Who did you look up to when you first came to the blockchain?

As I like to research things and I want to understand how they work, I was looking for people who could help me in answering those questions... Also, I was searching the "RIGHT WAY" of doing things so that was probably why I bumped up on @jongolson and his learning platform... After that, I have found the PYTP community where @shadowspub encouraged me to start with writing posts (more seriously)... She gave me some good writing tips that I'm still using... Big thanks for that!

7. How would you describe your first three months on the blockchain?

Well, it was hard as I didn't know anyone and I didn't know the "right topic" for me... I was a bit scared to write about things that I know, and I didn't want to write about things that I don't know... The easiest way was to start with easy posts about Splinterlands as that game was the reason why I joined this blockchain... Now, the picture is completely different... :)

8. Has being a part of the blockchain changed you in any way for the good?

Oh, it changed my life completely! I was working online before, but this blockchain change my way of "working"... The work became fun and engagement with other great people... It helped me to quit my previous job and move my focus 100% on cryptocurrencies... I have learned so many things from other users, which were not just about cryptocurrencies, but a lot of different topics, ways of thinking, and ways of living... In these 3 years, I made more steps outside my comfort zone than in the previous 20 years...

9. What is your favorite memory from your time on the blockchain?

Huh... this one is probably the hardest question... I don't have any specific event, but I do remember 2 things very well... The first one was my first attendance in the PYTP show as I was very nervous to interact with others in real-time... So, I did it in written mode...

And the second time was when Nathan asked me for a live interview on Twitter... That was super-stressing for me, but that pushed me so much forward and I can't thank enough him for doing that... :)

10. If you could give advice to a new person signing up to Hive what would it be?

Don't be afraid to do steps in a direction that you have never done before... Create content, share your knowledge with others, and don't be shy to exchange opinions with others... Engage with others in the comment section, show appreciation to authors and you will be appreciated too... Be stubborn and persistent and come every day to HIVE and engage with others...

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

Hey .. it's been a while.. Glad to see you thriving and so grateful that PYPT had value for you. It's still running only on the DreemPort discord server. You should check out DreemPort it's a cool project that includes people no matter where they write, even their own blogs.
