Research and Decide .:. NOT Vice Versa

avatar

It looks so normal to do it as I said in the title, but when it comes to real life, it isn't like that... I'm starting a new project named @liotes with @achim03, and we have decided to go in an opposite direction from "the normal"...

Actually, we thought that our thinking is "the normal" one and that we HAVE TO explain to people what the project is about and how we plan to develop it... After people understand the pros and cons, they can decide if that is something that they are looking for, or it isn't...

But, judging by some of the comments and reactions, we are maybe wrong about that... Something that moved my brain cells to think about it happened in our Discord and you can see what am I talking about in the screenshot below (thanks @gatticus, for inspiring me to write this post)...

Well, it was kind of unserious conversation and kidding a bit, but you know the saying that in every joke, there is something serious... And in this case, I think that it's not far away from the truth... In our case, we have decided to use these 5-6 days until the Liotes Mills (LENM) sale to try to explain to people our vision and idea behind the project... So, when they have the whole picture, they can take their time and decide...

pg divider203.png

Is that how it works in real life?

Usually, it's not... We are aware of that, but we don't want to go down that road... Usually, you have been bombarded with half-information, where all that is just serving to confuse you even more... Or, it is just served suddenly in front of you, and you have to decide NOW or NEVER when you have no clue what it is...

I have seen that a lot of times in the crypto space especially... Not because it happens more often in this niche, but because I'm focused on it lately... People are jumping in all these new shiny projects (tokens) without having a clue what it is... After realizing that it's not what they thought, they got disappointed... They leave the project, sell the stake, and spread negative stuff about it... You get the point... It doesn't serve anyone in the later stage, nor the investors, nor the creators/developers...

pg divider203.png

That's the method for building short-term projects that will shine for a day and then disappear... We don't want to do that... We want to build for the long-term, and to accomplish that, we have to have trust in our supporters and they have to trust us... That's how you build a sustainable long-term relationship...

Yes, I know that sometimes it can be complicated to understand a certain project, the idea, the plan, but if you want to support something, you have to DYOR... By doing that you are doing a favor to yourself, and to the project itself...

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

I personally think doing your own research to build your own belief is the best thing for any investment. When you have confidence in the investment, you can sleep better at night because you believe that the project will succeed. Any short-term dips do not bother you as much and until you find evidence proving you otherwise, there is no need to change your plan.

This is so true! When I was doing trading I had exactly that problem, wrong decision (not researched) and no sleep...
Now, I have a lot more in some cryptocurrencies, but I'm not stressing about ups and downs at all... As I'm sure that I have made the right decision in the long term...

Thanks for the awesome comment and support!

I'm not sure how any of 'this' works, I'm just a simple carpenter trying to piece-meal together what all this stuff is.

I am jumping into this kind of in a 'altruistic' way ??? I guess would be the way to put it.

I've read / seen a lot about a new 'sharing economy' , whatever the hell that is LOL

I figure you looked like you are putting forth an effort to build something (it's not a house like i would build - but here we are) and you put out a simple request to the universe ($hive/$Leo)

Well, I just happen to be out in the universe and wanted to help #BUIDL some stuff. I'm half disabled - but I got like $30 to throw at it , what's the worst thing that could happen - I've drank/smoked/snorted/pissed away more than that a few times without even expecting a return LOL.

If a whole bunch of people decide to do the same thing - I guess we have made it to the sharing economy.

Now - it's your turn, I am 'blindly/altruistically' giving you my trust - GO #BUIDL some cool stuff ;)

Hi @ph1102

That phrase of not of making decisions without research, is a hard thing to get mainly because we are social beings, and by nature we tend to trust our instinct without going to research. Best wishes for success for the project you are starting with @achim03.

Yours, Piotr

I agree with you... The final decision is usually as you said, the emotional trigger... But still, until we come to that point, we have a journey... For some people, it's just a part of the second, but for others, it can include research...

Thanks for the support!

Yes, people should research and then join. But in many cases it is fear of missing out that kicks in and make some people join the program.

@ph1102, how well you try to explain the people,
there will always be some set of crowd, if they don't see quick returns irrespective of they did DYOR or not, they will sell off and give negative reviews. That's given.

Every business/investment needs time to grow.

Oh, I have no doubts about that... But somehow, when I know that I have done my job, I feel better... I have tried to present as much possible info before someone made its decision... I know that people will blame others (creators, developers), but at least, I did my part. :)

As far as I am concerned, I have seen (and been impressed by) the way both of you have a heart for the community and want to help everyone. I have seen your activities in action and made note of the results. Based on the whitepaper and it's similarity to the CTPSB project and the WORKERBEE pool, I feel that I would be doing both you guys and myself a disservice if I were not to participate in this project.

I have to admit that we had plans to do something a couple of months ago, but we didn't have an exact idea... Then we did separate things, each one in its personal manner and way, and it played out well...
Like you said, with a "proven record" of our activities, it's easier to get the picture (and expectation) of how some future projects will develop... It's not a fact, but it's a good pointer...

Thanks for your support, Garrey! Always appreciated...
