Why is economic wealth in the hands of so few people?

avatar

It is a well-known fact that when we talk about economic wealth in the world, said wealth it has traditionally been in the hands of a few.

While a few are very rich, most people are poor

This has been the sad story for centuries and millennia; and it still is; in fact, it is known that currently more than 93% (among 93%
and 95% or so) of the world's wealth, is owned by 5% of the world's population.

If we do the math, these figures are chilling, because that means that 95% of the world's population only owns 5% of the world's economic wealth.

But should this bother us?
I think it shouldn't bother us, because in fact, if millionaires accumulate most of the world's wealth, is due they know how to produce it, because they are wealth conscious and its benefits, and because they work smartly for it.

So instead of getting upset, maybe we, the rest of the world's population, should ask ourselves what the rich are doing that we're not doing. What exactly is it that makes them achieve wealth while the rest of the world's people can't?

Misconceptions about wealth

And it is there where we see that a series of erroneous beliefs undermine the minds of the majority of people who are economically poor. What I mean is that most poor people think being rich (economically speaking) is bad, because the rich are rich because they obtained their fortunes through illicit means; or that wealth is bad because it makes you being a bad person, or that wealth does not bring happiness in life, etc.

Another erroneous belief that many poor people have is that to be rich you have to have inherited wealth. And there is also what, in my opinion, is perhaps the worst excuse, to justify yourself for not being rich, which is to think that the government of your country is responsible for your economic and personal well-being; and that if you do not achieve wealth it is because of the rulers of your country.

And faced with such beliefs, poor people then do not understand why most poor people can't reach financial freedom no matter how hard they try.

And it is that in the face of such misconceptions, poor people cannot understand that they have a brutal level of ignorance of what money, wealth and economic well-being are; and this leads them to not understand how to generate economical wealth.

Let's analyze each of the things that the poor wrongly argue against wealth and see if they are true or false

1. Most poor people think that being rich is bad because the rich have obtained their riches or fortunes through illicit means

This is totally false, because although it is true that many rich people have achieved wealth in this way, these people constitute a large minority in the global panorama of things. I want to say that most of the world's rich are rich because they have been visionaries, entrepreneurs and honest people who have known how to work intelligently to achieve their goals, which has allowed them to achieve the desired economic success.

2- Most poor people think that wealth is bad because it makes you a bad person

This is a brutal fallacy, because wealth does not make you a good person or a bad person, because money only enhances your true personal nature in that sense. It means that if being poor you are a bad person, then being rich, you will continue to be a bad person, but with money.

And if, on the contrary, being poor you are a really good person, then being rich you will also be a good person, but this time with money.

Translation: If you are a good person, you will remain a good person whether you have money or not, and if you were a bad person, you will remain a bad person whether you have money or not.

And we can see many examples of this in history, but we will talk about those cases on another occasion.

3. Most poor people think that wealth does not bring happiness

Which is a totally false fact, because although in a metaphysical sense there may be some truth to such a belief that personal happiness does not depend on money, in a sense of practicality and development in the world in which we live, wealth does guarantee the happiness. Think about it for a minute, without money you could buy food, clothing, medicine, transportation and shelter for you and your family? No, right? And do you think that without those things you could be happy in life? I sincerely doubt that someone can be happy in that way, so from a strictly practical point of view, I think that money does help to achieve happiness.

4. Most poor people think that to be rich, you must have inherited wealth

Again, it is one of the biggest fallacies, since most of the people who have managed to amass fortunes and wealth in their lives, did not have money in the beginning. In most cases, these people had nothing more than a good idea in their minds, and by obtaining monetary financing through third parties, and with great effort, they managed to build their economic empires.

5. Most poor people think that the governments of their countries are responsible for whether or not they can achieve financial freedom

This is one of the worst mistakes made by the poor, because what it means is that they wait for the government to solve their lives, and they do not understand that even if that were possible; the government cannot give them absolutely nothing that it has not removed from other citizens.

In fact, this has been precisely one of the worst errors of the communist ideology in the world, but I do not want to fall into political-ideological issues here.

In any case, thinking that the government is to blame for your being poor, makes you never take responsibility for your economic well-being, makes you never understand that the fact of achieving economic wealth or not does not depend on anyone but yourself.

Being emphatic, I could talk about a lot more wrong beliefs poor people have about money and wealth, but I think I had cleared enough the point here.

But is there hope that economic prospects will improve for the world's poor?

Yes, there is hope in that sense, since cryptocurrencies are helping to bridge the gap between rich and poor in the world. Because, fortunately, thanks to Bitcoin and the most important altcoins in the market, more and more people are truly financially free, and this is something really amazing.

People are currently achieving (and will continue to achieve in the future) economic, financial and personal freedom in their lives thanks to everything related to the crypto field. And believe it or not, this is still the case, even within the bear run that we are currently witnessing in the market.

This will mean that in the future wealth will be better distributed in the world, in proportional terms, that is; this will mean that there will be more wealth in the hands of a greater percentage of the population than has been seen in any other previous era, because thanks to cryptos, the financial welfare state will be something more and more common in the world.

Cryptocurrencies have helped spark abundance consciousness

Cryptocurrencies are allowing most people to understand (and more and more people will understand it in the future), everything that moves the economy, everything that money implies and all the important economic concepts that will allow them to achieve financial and personal wealth.

But in addition, cryptocurrencies are making most people become aware of abundance, aware that they can achieve financial freedom and economic wealth if they really put their minds to it, and I think this is one of the greatest attributes in such a sense.

So, with cryptocurrencies awakening economic awareness and awareness of wealth and abundance in most people, we can be sure that wealth will be better spread in the future. Of that there can be no doubt.
