I LOST ALL MY MONEY IN HFX

My quest for financial freedom has led me across a lot of valleys. Places where I've felt alone, some that I've had temporary liberation and others that have got me doubting my capacity to succeed.

I have a lot of stories about business and investment and the whole works, but for today I’d love to limit myself to trading.
The concept of digital trading has always been intriguing to me. Maybe I've felt eager to be called a trader because of the perception of a successful trader in any society. Keyword “successful”. But for me something within me never for one day imagined I’d ever possibly be unsuccessful.

I always thought, I’d be working from home, have a couple of computers, data analysis and everything that would make me millions of dollars. I've somewhat even envisioned that. Naivety is quite damning in a lot of things but far worse in something like trading.

So...one day I saw a friend make an advertisement on her WhatsApp status and boy oh boy, I was fascinated. She showed screenshots of thousands of dollars made by people who had apparently started trading barely 2 months before.

I fell for the trap. In hindsight I don't think it was her trap because I now feel she was also a victim of wanting to be overly successful at a short amount of time. She was someone I kinda trusted, we had been friends for about a couple of years, so obviously she wouldn't swindle me. C’mon.

I sent her a message and she informed me that I could grow my account from 500 dollars to over 10,000 dollars in 3 months if I compounded my gains and also pay the 234 dollar fee with which an academy (the one she was advertising) would teach me on how to trade and call out signals daily.

Wow! My problems were over and the following days she set up virtual meetings in which exotic people from different parts of the world gave me seminars and encouraged me to take the “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity.

I asked them for their success rate and one of the coordinators said they had an 89 percent success rate and also assured me that even though I had a strenuous job, I’d still meet my daily target. Of course I felt I was smart and lucky enough with real-time business experiences to be among the 89 percent. I had the money to pay for the course but nothing more and my “friend” urged me to borrow and start HFX and that I'll make the money in the twinkle of an eye.
I can say that I'm a risk taker, but it's sad that most have not paid off and so I borrowed and began the course. The pressure of getting funds to resubscribe for the course by the end of the month made me super impatient and take trades that, you guessed it right, wrecked my account and put me in huge debt.

It was yet another lesson on my journey to being financially independent. I later learnt that 90 percent of beginners blow about 3 or 4 of their initial accounts and while I've slowed down to take more classes online and work on trader’s mentality, price action and the different kinds of signals, I can say that I have been really skeptical about going back even if the rush was exhilarating. I might go back though, maybe after making money through other means.

And less I forget, the friend that introduced me got her bum handed to her also and she is in debt to the tune of 10,000 dollars. I feel so bad for her and my lesson was nothing compared to hers.
