What I Have Lived For.

• Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a great ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair.

• I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasy - ecstasy so great that I would often have sacrificed all the rest of life for a few hours of this joy. I have sought it, next, because it relieves loneliness--that terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks over the rim of the world into the cold unfathomable lifeless abyss. I have sought it finally, because in the union of love I have seen, in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have imagined. This is what I sought, and though it might seem too good for human life, this is what--at last--I have found.

• With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of men. I have wished to know why the stars shine. And I have tried to apprehend the Pythagorean power by which number holds sway above the flux. A little of this, but not much, I have achieved.

• Love and knowledge, so far as they were possible, led upward toward the heavens. But always pity brought me back to earth. Echoes of cries of pain reverberate in my heart. Children in famine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a burden to their sons, and the whole world of loneliness, poverty, and pain make a mockery of what human life should be. I long to alleviate this evil, but I cannot, and I too suffer.

• This has been my life. I have found it worth living, and would gladly live it again if the chance were offered me.

Alright! from here onwards, We are gonna talk about some prevalent incongruities, inaccuracies and misunderstandings that I suppose it is already about time that these have to be clarified once and for all throughout the Hive social network and all its related tribes within the blockchain.

And this post today will deal with nothing more and nothing less than the due, common and appropriate use of tags in our posts. But over all, about what is allowed or not with its use according to some obtuse criteria that have been fallaciously maintained over time by some clueless individuals around here.

And evidently, also a post specially dedicated to all those who stubbornly and ignorantly believe they own some tags or have some sort of exclusive rights or ownership on regular tags of frequent and universal use.

I will try to be brief. So let's start.

Last night I made a short post in the music community in which among many others I used one of those relevant tags of common, frequent and universal use.

The tag in question is #alive. And it didn't take too long for someone to appear claiming ownership of the word, the tag and its restricted use through the Hive blockchain. And that I could be the target of some banns and dire consequences if I insisted on continuing to use it freely. For that, I would have first to read and follow some arbitrary guidelines established by the alleged "owner" of the tag.

But given that right now I'm not in the mood and I don't really feel like talking more than necessary on this matter. I am only going to leave you here the link to said "outlaw" post where you can read and find his allegations in the comments section and you can also leave your opinion if you wish. On my side, I consider the case closed. But not without first sharing with you here another beautiful song to enjoy.
