Viktor was sweating profusely as he sat still on his bed. His gun was laying on the table in front of him. He had just finished cleaning it and made sure the magazine was full before slapping it into the 9mm browning pistol.

“Think think think” he said to himself while hitting his hand on his head.

When he accepted this mission few months ago, he had been prepared for the worse but with the Intel he had gathered, the worse was still to come. Viktor remembered his superiors had told him the mission was need-to-know, meaning that it was just him and his superiors who knew about the mission but they had lied to him. His mission had been compromised even before he stepped into the enemies camp.

Viktor had been asked by his superiors at the Kremlin to defect to the CIA in other for him to kill a spy who had escaped from the Kremlin after they found out he was a spy.

Viktor had done as instructed but few days after defecting, he realized that his target was aware of his presence but for some reasons, the man had not blown the whistle yet. Instead he had decided to kill Viktor himself.

Viktor had been surprised on how quickly his covered had been blown after escaping a few deadly attacks from the spy he was sent to kill. But Viktor could not report back to the Kremlin. Aside from killing the spy, he had been ordered to gather some Intel from the CIA and only after gathering the Intel, should he kill the spy and make contacts with the Kremlin.

He had spent the past few months gathering that Intel while avoiding getting killed by the spy. And now that he had gotten the Intel, he couldn't believe was his eyes was seeing. The spy wasn't the only spy in the Kremlin. That wasn't a huge surprise to Viktor as he suspected that the moment he realized the spy knew who he was but who the spy was, was what sent chills down his spine.

The spy was no other person but General Kosovo, one of the few superiors who had access to the need-to-know mission.

Viktor picked up his gun, examined it for one last time before putting it into the gun holster. One part of the mission was done, he needed to take care of the other part before reestablishing contacts with the Kremlin, the General and the spy were both going down.
