The day we’ve all been waiting for, the snapshot for the SPKnetwork and Ragnarok claim drops. I’d expect the price of HIVE to dip tomorrow as a bunch of folks sell post-snapshot but I’ve been wrong about price moves before so you’d be a fool to trade based on my guesstimate.

Today is of course also the anniversary of the Capitol insurrection. Hundreds of nimrods have been arrested so far. Hundreds more are wanted by the FBI. But, alas, not a single Big Dog has yet been charged. Fiat justitia.

Lawmakers Begin Discussions on Another Relief Package

Democratic and Republican lawmakers have held early discussions about another round of coronavirus stimulus spending as they seek to blunt the fast-spreading omicron variant and its urgent threats to public health and economic recovery.
The early efforts have focused primarily on authorizing billions of dollars to help an array of businesses — including restaurants, performance venues, gyms and even minor league sports teams — that face another potential blow to their already-battered balance sheets as a result of the evolving pandemic.

Politics:

Did the January 6 Coup Fail?

The most threatening aspect of January 6th was not the ferocious attack on the Capitol but the response of Republican officeholders thereafter. Even after the unleashing of medieval mob violence; even after the erection of a gallows; even after members had been forced to run for their lives; even after the deaths and injuries; even after all of that and more, 147 Republican members of Congress voted not to certify Joe Biden as the winner of the presidency.
The transformation of the GOP from a political party into an authoritarian personality cult became official that day. McCarthy’s bootlicking visit to Mar-a-Lago in late January 2021 merely provided the visual.

Be still, my heart: Mike Pence’s Team Helping Select Committee

People in and around former Vice President Mike Pence’s office have been particularly cooperative as the Jan. 6 select committee focuses on what former President Trump was doing during the more than three hours the Capitol was under attack.

Prosecutors Move Quickly on January 6 Cases

The government estimates that as many as 2,500 people who took part in the events of Jan. 6 could be charged with federal crimes. That includes more than 1,000 incidents that prosecutors believe could be assaults.
As of this week, more than 225 people have been accused of attacking or interfering with the police that day. About 275 have been charged with what the government describes as the chief political crime on Jan. 6: obstructing Congress’s duty to certify the 2020 presidential vote count. A little over 300 people have been charged with petty crimes alone, mostly trespassing and disorderly conduct.
But a big question hangs over the prosecutions: Will the Justice Department move beyond charging the rioters themselves?

Republicans dodge and deflect ahead of Jan. 6

Republicans don’t want to talk about Jan. 6. Period. End of story.
On a private call Tuesday, House GOP leaders encouraged their members to stick to attacking President Joe Biden — or, at most, talk about ongoing security concerns at the Capitol. Republican senators, meanwhile, dodged questions about the Thursday anniversary. Most of them are relieved they have an excuse to be out of town: attending former Sen. Johnny Isakson’s funeral in Atlanta.

Unbelievable. Everything about the January 6 riots and the inability of one side of the aisle to accept responsibility and the continued popularity of Trump is mind-blowing. I've been reading about mass formation psychosis....

I had to look up the term fiat justitia. Learn something new every day! May the reckoning continue... not just the people who physically stormed the capital, but those in power who dealt the cards.
