When your green earrings turn into a tree toy /

Hi thanks to @prayzz for telling me about the initiative. I had missed @kronias's post, but I think I can join in now too.

I wanted to do something super good - light green earrings. I recently posted how I made a red keychain and thought making some earrings with the same technology would be a great thing.

The launch was promising!

These are the materials I used, missing the actual yarn and beads. I'll talk about the beads a bit later.

I made two roughly equal length ropes. I left enough length in reserve for the moment if I don't have enough rope to finish the rope.

It was all very promising until I started sewing the beads. At first glance it looked perfect to me, but it turned out to be of inferior quality. What does that mean? There were almost no beads of the same size, of course I was too late and it all went askew.

So that I could attach everything to the metal base I sewed on both sides at the same time. I sewed 5 beads on one side, then threaded the needle and moved to the other side.

It turned out about right, but the difference in the size of the beads was increasingly annoying me. The first round was done and I headed to do a second, after all I have two ears I need two earrings.

As you notice with the second earring the situation got even worse.

These beads were not only different lengths, but apparently also different thicknesses.

Do you see the waves of beads?

The extra threads on one earring I had cut off a long time ago, but on the first one I hadn't. I used them to make a stitch and tied it.

I was thinking that I definitely can't use them for earrings, they got too "weird". But I can definitely hang them on the Christmas tree as a toy. I would add a little bell in the middle of the "hole".

Of course, I still have the option to enlarge it all and start over. I'll definitely try this technique again, but I'll 100% separate the beads I need first so they'll be the same size so I don't get gaps like this. After all, we ladies all want to be beautiful!

Hi there, I was going to miss the time for posting it, just because I watched a movie while the little one got asleep... I am going to try this again, I hope next time with proper beads everything will be better. The sad thing is that I bought 5 pack of those green beads and I have to sort them 💣💥💣. This is like "no-way" mission when you have 2 yo kid :D
