Extending the Holiday Season during a Crisis | Community Charity Initiative

Ever since the typhoon, things are really tough in terms of communication especially the internet. The struggle of accessing peak or any hive dapps is, so stressful because it takes so much time before the website loads.

One of the few places that I go to in order for me to be able to do some Hive work is Marco Polo Hotel which was the closest place to my location but I had limit my visit there because somehow it cost fortune. So, am not able to upload some photos in Hive but will try once I go to the city and will do a batch of upload like I what I ded when I went to Marco Polo.

If you don't know by now, the aftermath of the recent typhoon had brought families in crisis and even our @hivecebubloggers members were devastated and one family from our @hivecebubloggers community lost their home. So, I set a plan of visiting them a little over a week from now.

But before I came up with this plan, I was thinking of what organization or area to choose to do my charity work and even asked @sellennee to make a Donation Drive poster to help Filipinos affected by this calamity. But now that my sister @gerel left to go home to our hometown and not having a helper anymore made it harder to organize some activities. In terms of time between my family and others, the energy, and resources, this made me realize I cannot be of help if I am incapacitated. The truth is, we are all in a crisis right now but we are all doing our best to really get through this!

So, I reached out to one our @hivecebublogger's community leader to help me organize a charity work for our community.

A lot of our @hivecebumembers are still in the process of recovering from the aftermath of the typhoon and I am hopeful that better days will be here soon.

We all want to help a lot of people during this crisis but we cannot help everyone and because of the power outage it made it harder to organize this activity but we will do our best to help more people, in time.

But even after going through all the stress while trying to cope in this current situation, I cannot stand the fact that others need help, so I tried to do some things that will make a small impact on others because it makes me happy. So, I did some small charity work inside our neighborhood and close places from my location just giving random stuff like food and available drink.

This time, I chose @hivecebubloggers members to do my charity work, I am going to distribute some goods like noodels and canned food. I don't have much right now since I had already been distributing some items but thanks to @filipinajourney she donated some goods too.

P.s. this blog was supposed to be posted two days ago but I could not upload any photos in Hive (except other social media) because of the slow internet connection. You can follow me on my Twitter account, "itspurepinay" for some updates.

Update #2:

At the time of writing this, it's past 5am, and having my coffee, which is another luxury. In a little bit, I will be packing some stuff to distribute some members of @hivecebubloggers. It's a challenge trying to keep our home clean because of our two cats, my baby who plays none stop and living a two bedroom unit which a little over 100 square meters, and not to mention I am a hoarder of random stuff!

So, I will be distributing these random items that people can make use of like mattresses, 3 fans, some towels and rags, cleaning stuff, etcs. I'll give you an update soon.

Update #3: Really struggling with internet connection!!!

I sent 100 HBD to @hivecebubloggers to fund a small amount for the salary of those who are currently helping to work on the account while am incapacitated of this poor internet connection and most of our leaders and members are trying to cope with the current situation. P.s. Thank you so much in advance to @sellennee, @humbledwriter, @asasiklause, @kristiancablao , and @beyondyoga for all the help that your doing right now to HCBC.

recycled photo fro previous post

Unfortunately, my time is getting wasted trying to upload some photos, and am super tired right now, it's past 7 pm now and still struggling to post this blog, ='(. I had set up an auto upvote temporarily so I don't miss to show support and I also followed @hivecebubloggers curation trail, you can check the link on our page and also @asean.hive 's curation trail. Crossed my fingers I can go out tomorrow and be able to do some more Hive work. ='(

Again, for @hivecebubloggers charity work will be on the 15th of January and we are going to post the full info @hivecebubloggers page very soon, so please follow us to keep posted.

Edited: Updated photo after 24 hours of posting

Gil

I feel sorry to seeing that the aftermath of the typhoon still goes on today. Hope things will back to normal very soon, fortunately people have a sympathetic person like you to dedicate on the charity.

It’s believed that people will feel comfort to see that so many people is willing to help them in this difficult time. May god bless all the people in your country.

By the way, thanks for your supporting on my post in ASEAN community last night. 🤗

It's good to know that the drinking water and tap water is back to normal at least, soon the electricity will resume, then people's life will fully back to normal. We can make it, no matter on the hurricane or pandemic.

The typhoon has truly brought immense damage to everyone. It's amazing to see that you are still putting others' needs before yourself, and helping out the HCBC members. I will continue to do my best to help out the community and work for the betterment of everyone!

It has been a struggle for a lot of us and we are still recovering on our own. Thank you so much for all the help Gil. It has been difficult for most of us to be active in the platform these days even on Group Chats but hoping this struggle with the internetbwill end soon. We will be able to be active and post updates in our HCBC pages and our blogs. Always remember Gil, do not compromise your well being. It is a priority.Keep safe and see you soon!

I can only imagine how complicated maintaining Hive at the moment. I've barely been able to post once every 10 days because ASEAN Hive now has so many posts every day that I no longer have time to think about my blog anymore. Even now I am three days behind in ASEAN Hive, but the good news is I'm back in Cambodia with the family and whole again.

Although nearly broke, we had enough money to buy a tuk-tuk, so we will soon receive it and be on the road with our luggage searching for an inspiring town to rent a $50 per month room and make a basecamp. Once we're settled a bit, ASEAN Hive will be back to normal.

I guess right now HCBC and ASEAN Hive are both in flux at the moment. Hopefully by the end of January some stability will have returned to both of our communities.

It is quite stressful not being efficient with Hive work. Especially staring at the screen and hoping the page will load but sometimes we have to to take a break and take care of our mental health. Thankfully we checked in at a hotel after dealing with no electricity and I had to wake up every now and then to fan my baby and not having enough enough sleep puts me a mood swings.

We are back at our place now and thankful they fixed the generator and hopefully it won't have problems again.

Am sorry to hear about your struggles too. I can imagine the weight you are carrying, especially that @asean.hive is growing rapidly. I think delegating some tasks would also help. That's what I have been doing, thanks to @sellennee and @humbledwriter for being so hardworking even though are bombarded with school work.

We will support @asean.hive on our way, let me know if you also need help with anything. I updated my delegation a little bit, altho it's not much. Hope to help more in time.

And kudos to @wil.metcalfe for giving us a huge support, and boosted our morale and his @comet.ranker project is such a huge help especially to those who always show engagement.

Thank you to you guys! ❤️

You're welcome, @purepinay! This inefficiency you've mentioned is just a little to no inconvenience to the HCBC members. Just always think of how you've managed HCBC from dust to a loving community to redeem your mood and inspiration 😍

Also, @asean.hive and @justinparke, I may not be so active here in your community, but I can see how hardworking you guys are. Fighting! Looking forward to the success of these two groups that have so many hardworking members. ❤️

Justin! I'm in and out here... but reading this comment made me stop in my tracks!

I'm so happy that you have reconnected with your family in Cambodia! Oh how you all must have been smiling when you walked back into the girls lives! Gawd Damn! I'm so happy for you all! Smiling from ear to ear and I told my wife, @wonderwow, right away as well!

I just wanted to tell you this. ❤️

Thanks my man, obviously I am elated. I will resume Hive-tities soon, after all, it's our only source of income. However, right now, I am just enjoying staring at my family and accepting that it has really happened.

Yes!!! SoakUP all that love and joy! You need a good battery charge! THEN press forward fueled by that gratefulness!

$50 per. month for a basecamp is a decent price! 36 Hive (at current prices) gets that covered!

What I find difficult is balancing the tangible needs and analog tasks with the digital and intangible ones! Especially when people around you aren't understanding why your busting moves (glued to your screen) day and night! It really is all about energy and focus management.

But combine your digital efforts (linier) with some trading (exponential) and you can scale even the smallest thing into massive life changing ones!

We live in a world where it is possible to trade across boarders (not just assets but ideas!) at the speed of light... and you and I are on the cutting / bleeding edge of all that!

And so this is more about compiling and acting on experience and the wisdom that got you here... and trusting that and yourself!

You are a born leader and I have every confidence in you! (So many here feel that way about you I think!)

These last couple years have really tested you all... and now with the resilience you and your family have built... you will have an edge! You are standing on the go-line and all the lights are green Justin! You might as well be already standing on the goal-line!

I'm so excited for you my friend!

...and more than ever I'm just happy for you and your little lovely family!

Together you have everything!

This year is when EVERYTHING changes!

Can you feel it? 😁
