All You Want

Grasp all, lose all— probably we don’t believe in this anymore. Or we consciously ignore the message it entails to get a taste of what we want and don’t stop until it backfires.

That’s how human instinct works these days. Greed is what we call it. And greedy people never get content, no matter how hard you try— at the end of the day he somehow finds a point of disappointment and yearns for more.

Although greed is a natural human characteristic, this intense selfish desire to grab all creates a disease often incurable and pretty much lethal in nature. While the effects are not visible like other forms of diseases, it eats away the goodness inside, leaving the skeleton devoid of the sense of judgment and the sense of distinction between right and wrong. A thin line is created between necessity and desire when greed affects the soul, arising conflict even in a state of tranquillity and causing discomfort even after being surrounded by literally everything.

It’s a never-ending loop that enslaves the human mind for the time being and if this continues, the grumpiness replaces the grin on our faces— dissatisfaction ensues. However, as intelligent beings, we all can detect when our actions are synonymous with greed.

But we do not fall back as there is still something left that could be ours. And when it is achieved, our inquisitive mind always finds a way to discover even more snazzy things on the other side— a cycle that has killed millions, away from our plain sight— slowly but evidently. None of us is above it, we all feel the urge to envy someone at some point. But we manage to mask it with our conscience and those who fail to muzzle it timely, get bitten by the venom-dipped fang of eternal instability.

Now, what triggered me to preach against greed all of a sudden. Well, I have witnessed a gruesome act of selfishness on the last day. Interestingly, I have seen it in so many people at once that I barely noticed I, too, belong to the category. So, it’s more like a confession rather than ranting about how people are turning into zombies.

Yesterday, I had my first-ever buffet experience in a not-so-top-notch restaurant. I have mixed feelings about the quality of food and staff behaviour, but, yes— I had my fair share of fullness before the session ended. Usually, I avoid foods with flavoured ingredients— a dish full of plain items and you can count me in. but, on the last day, the scenario changed. I dont know why but I am assuming it’s the greed of unlimitedness that propelled my appetite even though they were not anywhere of my liking. I devoured almost every item irrespective of taste and probably wouldn’t stop if my stomach didn’t hurt so bad. It was excessive and mostly unnecessary. But I galloped them all, cause it’s “ALL YOU CAN EAT.” I knew things won’t favour me in the end, but, my mind had this from the beginning— this particular word “UNLIMITED.” The whole time I was thinking about what could possibly go wrong, it couldn’t keep me at bay from trying different items again and again. Though nothing has happened so far, I feel like it’s not normal human behaviour and perfectly resonates with GREED. And to be honest, I am ashamed of my behaviour out there— not that I ate too much but this could be much more gentler.

p.s. I thought cuties can’t/don't eat much. I was wrong— I have seen them galloping more than I did, probably because it’s “all you can” and I am confident if they were to pay per menu, they wouldn’t try more than 2/3 of items altogether. Neither did I.

I usually have the impression that buffet foods aren't generally good tasting, and because of that I rarely can have my fill at them. Remember the buffet back at Mermaid? That was horrible too.

Don't underestimate babez. They will eat you too. ;)

It's after ages I liked any rich food from a restaurant. The items were good, unique, and good-looking. Probably I was lucky to have my first-ever experience not wasted.

About babez, I always wonder what they can't do :v
