Splinterlands : Is Renting become more profitable then playing?

Splinterland's attracted so many player after they started airdropping their governance token to the players. More then 50K players flocked to test the game and 20000 spellbooks are sold in just 2 week. Primary market (official store is already sold out for cards) and all new players are now left with options of buying packs and cards from secondary market or they "rent out the cards".
Rental market is already in boom with 300K active rentals and 50000 daily players

With so many players competing , does it look like renting is becoming more profitable then playing?

I guess it always depend upon individual to individual as you can see that my total ranked play rewards come under 2000 DEC daily for the whole season.

Apart from DEC earning, I really was unlucky in last season with card rewards too.

You can see that for whole season, I am not able to bag any legendary or any gold foil card, so I guess I really ended in the "low spectrum" of rewards.

So how is rental going ?

I think I made a habit of not selling the cards and I kept stacking my rewards card though I am not using them because I always felt they were always going to be worth in future.
So I have a "dedicated" account in which I keep those cards that I do not use and surprisingly this account is also now worth more than $7000 and today when I started renting it's card , I am surprised to see that it is grossing more than 2000 DEC per day,

Interestingly, I am able to rent the level 1 cards also .

I remember these cards used to sold "approximately equivalent" to their DEC value in past, but now these cards also have nice market for them.

So what I am going to do.

Though rental income of auxiliary account look so good that it might entice me to put my whole main account for renting but actually I am still plan to play because:

  1. Playing the game earned me all those cards.
  2. You never know if you get lucky with GFL.

If you have extra cards, then rent them.

I really see a great demands of cards and for "out of print" cards level 1 is also in demand. It help you to earn some extra income and also provide the cards to new player to experiment with their line up.

How much power do you think you need before renting out your cards? Thx

There is no limit of collection power, you only need to own the cards.
I am not sure of spellbook requirement though.
