TOP 5 - Warren Buffett's investment rules

avatar

Hello friends today I want to reflect a little on Warren Buffett and his mentality.

Well, I'm pretty sure you've heard of Warren Buffett, the richest investor of all time and one of the 3 richest men in the world with a fortune of 100 billion dollars.

Warren does not come from an extremely wealthy family and when he was a child he sold soft drinks and chewing gum, at the age of ten he bought his first stock, her prices fell but he held on but as soon as he got 5 dollars in profit on the shares he sold but they kept going up he learned that valuable lesson that every novice investor usually has.

At the age of 14 he had 5,000 dollars of assets, at the age of 21 he had 20,000 dollars, at the age of 26 he had 140,000 dollars, at the age of 1 million dollars, at the age of 47 67 million dollars at 56 1.4 billion of dollars. at 66 17 billion dollars, at 72 36 billion dollars. at 83 58 billion dollars, and today at 90 years old 100 billion dollars.

From the age of 14 to 30 he went from $ 5,000 to $ 1 million, from 72 years to 90 years he went from $ 36 billion to $ 100 billion, that's a lot of money.

His story is fantastic and his results even more, he has some principles when it comes to investments and in this post I come to you to bring Warren Buffett's 5 investment rules.

1 - never lose money

What does that mean?

If you lost 50% you need 100% to recover, if you lost 75% you need 300% if you lost 90% you need 900% to recover so the more you lose the harder it is to recover and more important than the money you wasted time.

2- never forget the first rule.

It's never simple to lose money.

3 - a wonderful company at a fair price is better than a fair company at a wonderful price.

this rule will be complemented by the next one but this refers to a strategy that used buffett which was to buy companies at low prices that had a cash value higher than what was being negotiated so you had a "last breath" where there was a profit margin but in the short term, strategy is known as a "cigar butt" when you find a cigar on the floor of one last drag and throw it away. this is based on the short term while good assets have a potentially much higher return in the long term.

4 - Price is what you pay, value is what you get.

This strategy fits a lot in my view with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. When bitcoin was 100 dollars I had the opportunity to buy 4 btc but I didn't see the value at the time, today that would be worth over 1 million BRL. i believe that bitcoin is still cheap but i believe i will be able to buy it for a little less when the bear market comes but its value in the future will be much higher than what is being traded today.

5 - never invest in what you don't know.

This is self explanatory and basic to understand if you do not know where you are putting your money is very difficult to be able to assess the risk and return on investment, you just cannot do the calculation of the correct way of the investment, if you cannot use it a calculator to make a realistic forecast on your investment, DO NOT INVEST YOUR MONEY IN IT, study and understand, calculate and after having enough data and knowledge put your emotions aside and make a rational decision, so it will be more difficult for you to break the first one rule.
I talked a little about it in this other post explaining some of the reasons why you lose money when you invest https://www.proofofbrain.io/hive-150329/@ralexandria/why-do-you-lose-money-investing

Another post that also addresses some of these concepts is from @celi130 in leo finance follow the link for those interested https://www.proofofbrain.io/hive-167922/@celi130/do-not-make-these-mistakes-if-you-are-going-to-invest

I hope I can help with these reflections and add knowledge to your brains, a phrase that I like a lot and I take to my life is:

"The best way to learn is to teach"

Thank you so much for reading this far, a big hug and sorry for the English mistakes.
