Financial independence. A dream of many Hivers and crypto enthusiasts all the same. The ultimate dream, to be far removed from being financially dependent on some type of work you have to do requiring far too much effort and energy. It is something almost all of us start out in. The so-called "rat race" according to the popular book "Rich Dad Poor Dad". I have pointed my arrow of direction in life towards the goal of financial independence for a while now. And the more I earn through alternative means like Hive and various investments, the more the idea of retiring early appeals to me.

Having been in the corporate world, that can sometimes be quite taxing, for over 4 years now, there is no doubt in my mind that working a 9 to 5 until I'm somewhat 60 is not for me. This is why every move I make is not necessarily for instant profit or immediate gratification, but rather for the betterment of the long term plan to increase a healthy compounding and self-sustaining cashflow.

Whenever I reach full financial independence, so much so that I can do everything I want to do in live, with minimal effort to gain funds, I probably won't stop working completely. But I would have the freedom to choose what I want to do for the sake of it, for the challenge, or simply to kill some spare time.

Financial independence is something worth looking into extensively. Become somewhat of an expert, an addict even. It will ultimately be your most valuable skill. And while you look into it, feel free to write about every little thing you learn right here on Hive.
