Macro Jungle Adventures in Suriname || Testing my New Lenses 🌴

On my last trip into the inner jungles of Suriname, I took my new phone with me. With this new phone came a new camera and new camera technology. Because I had my previous phone for 5 years with its single lens, I didn't have fancy advancements like wide angle shots and macro shots. So it's pretty safe to say I was eager to test out my new toy. Especially the macro shots and the level detail of up close pictures was exciting

The first models that caught my eye were these mushrooms growing all over the island we were on. They look fairly tame. Maybe even edible. But didn't try out that theory, being so far from civilized medicine and all.

During a forest walk I took some shots of these things that grow on trees there called Ingi Pipa, which in my head loosely translates to Indian pipe. The guide said Indian males (natives) used to use these to cover their... ehh.. hunting equipment, if you know what I mean.

Not far from the reproductivity holders this insect was chilling on a cut off tree. No idea what it is, or if it's dangerous, but it made for a cool macro shot.

At the sides of the island besides the water streams there are some rocks you can relax on. And in between those rocks these plants grow. Apparently they're medicinal, but nobody could tell me for what purpose.

And all around the island you have palm trees that carry a certain type of fruit we call Awara. Some people really like them and even eat them fresh of the tree or ground. They make for great juice too.

I'm now constantly looking around me anywhere I walk, looking for cool macro shot opportunities. Who would've known, it's a small world after all.
