Playing the long game means buying assets. In the case of Hive there are many different options you can choose from, but once you own them you can get pretty obsessed with the frequent payouts. #dbuzz #meme #passiveincome #ctp #proofofbrain #neoxian

One thing that concerns me sometimes is having too many illiquid assets. Especially things like NFTs. If you need or want the funds that they are worth, you still have to find a buyer. That often means selling them below the market value if you don´t want to wait a long time.

I agree on the NFT's. Especially with games on Hive right now. The user base is not large enough to have a small gap between buy price and sell price, making it difficult to sell in game items. That's why my main goal is to get initial investment out of the dividends only.

Right now, it's especially hard to sell any Splinterlands cards. The values keep dropping and it's because there are too many sellers and not enough buyers. People are competing to have the lowest prices, but if no one buys, then the prices just keep dropping. I have put a few cards on the market for much lower than any other prices, and no one is biting. I do think that the prices of those cards will go up in the future, but when they do, I would be smart to sell some of them and take some profit, then put it into more liquid assets.

Even with Hive Power, I've decided that when I hit 25,000 Hive Power, I will start powering down anything above that and investing some Hive in other assets. Specifically Bitcoin. 25,000 is still a pretty good amount to invest in a project, and I do believe in Hive, but I need to diversify more.

I bought some of the Hive Punk NFTs and I have made my initial investment back and still have some NFTs left, so I don't regret that.

This is part of my plan, especially with Splinterlands and dCity, but until then, I will let the NFTs do their work by using them in the game.

Powering down from a certain HP threshold is a good strategy and works for a lot of people here. As long as our focus is on the true value of Hive, powering up indefinitely is unnecessary.

Unfortunately I was late to the Hive Punk NFTs. Didn't even bother to do the research. xD

Getting obsessed isn't good as it wastes your time. !PIZZA

I try not to be so obsessed with the daily payout though, even if looking at my rewards/delegations-payments/upvotes gives me addictive dopamine doses...

I am only focusing on a few tokens that provide me with passive income. I am nervous about keeping too much liquid Hive laying around.

Agreed. A bit of liquid HIVE for trading is all you need. Everything else should be put to work. Even liquid HBD is a bit better than liquid HIVE at this point, with the savings percentage being offered.

Thanks for the tip about the liquid HBD! Have a great weekend! 😀

This is the hope - some people want coins to moon so they can sell off; I'd like Hive to moon so I can earn a living off of the upvotes/curation/passive income tokens/etc. and keep my HP where it is, you know?

I know and you know! We have the same goal and will eventually get there.

Hive is like Airdrop headquarters. Also enjoy how some staked tokens create more tokens :-D

My mission right now is all about those tokens. Right now they're giving me scraps. But scraps can quickly turn into big bucks when compounded.

That is so true 👍 Have never seen opportunities like these that are offered on Hive before.

I know what you mean. The HBD savings option that gives 12% APR is already absurd to me, living in a country where banks give less than 1% annually for USD.

I think Banks are absurd bordering on criminal.
