Do You Think The World Was Designed To End World Hunger & Poverty?

The Director of UN Food Scarcity claims that 2% of Elon Musk’s wealth can end or rather solve world hunger. This was just few days ago, and a man called Eli David decided to do some facts check and according to his analysis, that doesn’t seem right.

Apparently 2% of Elon Musk’s wealth is $6 Billion, that’s a little below what the organization raised last year but world hunger is no where close to coming to an end. Elon musk replied the tweet by saying that if the WFP(World Food Program) can show with break downs and evidence on how his $6 Billion can end world hunger then he would donate that immediately by selling his Tesla shares. With the condition that everything needed to be open and shown to the public with accounts on how the money is being spent. Bold move because ending world hunger is nearly impossible and $6 Billion is so small to end world hunger.

This got me thinking, do you think it’s possible for the world to end world Hunger and poverty? Right from when I started taking interest in economics and wealth, I have always thought of how almost impossible to eradicate world poverty is. This is because I have come to realize that poverty is something in the world we can see as a feature not or bugor virus to be eradicated. No matter how individually we want to end world hunger and poverty, because we don’t like to see the world suffer, we still can’t deny the fact that a lot of people are making a living from the world being poor and hungry.

For instance some of these NGOs if not most of them that claim to be there for the selfless service are thieves and criminals. Some of them stay defrauding the public and the world by saying they are going to end world hunger knowing fully well that it’s an impossible mission. They use the money donated by others to fund their live-styles. You see them traveling from one country to another spending money to stay in one of the executive hotels with money meant for solving poverty. They spend more time and money trying to prove they can solve world hunger and poverty more than trying to actually solve the world hunger and poverty.

From my little understanding about the world, people and economics, I have come to realize that people are not poor because they are lazy or because they don’t have money. People are poor because the environment and the institution they find theirselves were built to keep them poor. I will like to bring this discussion home to where am used to, which is Nigeria or rather Africa.

The African and Nigerian system has been orchestrated and designed to subject the common man into staying in poverty. We are talking of lack of jobs and opportunities, then top that up with inflation. The average man cannot find a job to make money to feed, couple that with daily inflation increase, how do you think this person will be taken out of poverty except miracle.

Let’s look at the ability for people to migrate from one country to another without restrictions due to the power of their international passport. In Nigeria, the dream of an average Nigerian youth is to relocate from the country and start a new life somewhere better. But achieving this dream is very hard because of the scrutiny you will experience from different embassies. This is because the Nigerian passport is one of the weakest passport in the world.

It has been proven in the past and currently that people have been able to preserve wealth and sustain wealth because they were able to move and relocate to a different location when their current location didn’t favor them. Not a lot of people have that privilege and who makes it so that some certain privileges like these are deprived from some certain people? The world.

With the right passport, you can move around to anywhere in the globe and seek for better opportunities. With the wrong passport, people will consider you lucky because you had the chance and opportunity to leave. This is the reason lots of people in Nigeria consider traveling abroad as luxury. I know lots of people that feel that only the rich can travel abroad.

Aside that we need to also talk about the outrageous interest banks and financial institutions set on loans. These interests are so unfair that the common man can nearly not pay this loan back thereby getting them stuck in debt. They sometimes end up borrowing from other sources to pay off the previous debt so the pressure to pay the loan from the previous debt will reduce.

Now let’s talk about countries that make use of credit scores. Some people have no access to loans because of a bad credit scores and trust me most times, a bad credit score is as a result of being poor or rather poverty. In my opinion borrowing and taking loans is only for the rich and it favors the rich because they always have a backup to how they are going to pay back, but it hurts the poor greatly.

You can’t solve world hunger by distributing money to everyone who claims to be poor. You can only solve world hunger when the system is redesigned and reconstructed to make it very easy for the common man to be rich and successful.

This reminds me if a Biblical reference when Judas claimed that they could have sold the oil that woman poured on Jesus feet to help the poor. As explained in the Bible, he was just talking out of selfish interest. He was the treasurer after all. So it's not today. This thing had begun long ago and yes, in other for this to stop, the world's system must change.

To be honest, I don't. World Hunger/poverty will always go on. Except a miracle happens.
