Hive: Easy Money Or Hard Money?

Easy money has been some thing that has scared me for a very long time especially when we hear that phrase “Nothing Good Comes Easy”. This has always made me feel that I don’t deserve any money I didn’t work for. Even collecting money from your parents when you were in college was considered easy but trust me that wasn’t easy. It seemed like an easy thing to walk up to your dad and ask for money, and you expect him to give you the money without scrutiny. It’s not possible, no matter how abundant your parents must have been, it’s just in their nature to give you a little tough touch so you don’t think that life outside is that easy.

Before I collect money from my dad, I had to do lots of mental rehearsals on what to say, how to say it, check my compulsion, make sure I don’t demand it in a way that would sound demanding and make sure I promise not to lavish the money.

Even if we saw it as easy money then, that wasn’t easy money, that was the beginning of how we learnt how to hustle for money. You find out that most times when you finally get that money from your dad, you make sure you use that money wisely because you wouldn’t like to be worried on how to behave to get another one. So this money in my opinion and experience wasn’t considered easy money, easy come and easy go.

Fast forward to a time I was introduced into gambling by some friends. That’s sport betting, all I had to do was predict teams I thought were going to win, place some bets on them and that’s all. What I also had to do was wait for the result and collect my money. That’s sounded like an extremely easy money. I was super excited and decided that I was going to gamble. I made my first gamble and I won. That made me stake higher with bigger money. Because of the mentality of, it’s easy money, I can easily make it again if I lose it, I lost a lot. I kept on gambling more and more trying to make more easy money, but I kept on losing.

Do You Think Hive Is Easy Money?
This is the mentality some newbies bring into Hive thinking Hive is an easy money making platform, until they spend few weeks trying to put in the work to create quality content. I remember few weeks back i told someone about Hive and I explained what they had to do. They laughed and considered it an easy money. That’s always their first intention, they feel, “How hard can it be, all I just have to do is write stuff and the site automatically pays me”. I let this person make their first post, and the post was just 5 lines with no effort whatsoever and one generic image from Google as their image . They called me and complained that their post had $0. I explained to them why their post needed more quality before people can consider reading their post before upvoting it.

They tried the quality post thingy for a while, gave up and I never saw them again on Hive. So in my opinion Hive can not be considered easy money and can also be considered easy money.

When Can We Consider Hive Easy Money?
In the initial stage of blogging on Hive, you have to try your best to impress your curators, so that means you are going to learn to make an extremely quality content . Now you have attracted those constant curators and they are upvoting most of your post giving you the necessary value for your post, from another Hiver who is new they will consider it easy money because they felt all you had to do was throw words around and you get upvotes with good value.

It becomes easy for you because this is what you do everyday now, so it’s part of you. Making a quality post everyday is feeling like riding a bike, it flows easily. That’s the easy part.

When Do We Consider Hive Hard Money?
You have gotten to the easy part where you make your post and get valued upvotes and you are happy. The hard part now is that you have to be consistent and make that quality post everyday. You have created a credibility and you have to maintain that credibility. The feeling of not wanting to make a post sometimes will come, writers block will come, other circumstances will come, but you have to drop some contents because you have a goal and you need to reach that goal.

So in my opinion Hive is both Easy and Hard money. Easy money because a post can give you what some people make in a week, Hard money because you have to do that everyday , be consistent and deliver quality content.

You transfer nearly the same amount in and out within short periods of time, but then again not very often. What purpose could that have? Is the HIVE dirty and do you want it laundered by Blocktrades? I totally don't get it.

Oh!! You meant on my transaction history? I sometimes take my profits on Hive and invest on other projects like NFTs, and buying some cards on Splinterlands.

What's your Splinterlands account name? I wanted you to check your cards and this account doesn't own any.

Doing the daily grind can really take time out of the day. I'm just back from a longer Splinterlands break, meaning I didn't do the daily quest for a few months actually.

Oh!! Due to my in experience on Hive when I newly started I didn’t know that my Hive log in gives me access to splinterlands. So I opened a new splinterlands hive account. @readthisplease6 is my splinterlands account. The difference is 6. You can imagine how I felt weeks later when I found out that it was not necessary to open a new account

Hive is fun money. That makes it all worth the effort. I have been here over 4 years, posting daily without fail. That is not easy to do but it is enjoyable and we encounter a lot of great people.

Thus, whether one looks at it as easy or hard, it is enjoyable. Focus upon that, look to contribute, and all else will fall into place.

I like Hive for being decentralized (sort of) and fun and finding other people who are interesting in crypto.

Over time it can add up, but if you look around you will see that anyone who has made considerable stake has probably had to make it through some Hive battles, the long term big earners avoided conflict or made it through the other side, and consistently built an audience and retained it.

Some days it's likely easy, but over time, it's a more challenging situation.

I really agree with this your post,

But really checking it out, writing content posts are not easy, I mean, sometimes you just feel reluctant and all

But then, if there is anything I have learnt so far using the Hive Blog, it’s that Hive is not a get rich quick site!.

Exactly, you build wealth by accumulating it over time.
